this is for one of my favorite animals, wolves.
1. wolves howl at the moon to commune with their pack members while hunting.
2. wolves do not howl exclusively at the full moon, contrary to popular belief.
3. an alpha male does not become alpha by dominating over other males, but by how popular he is in the pack.
4. wolves are very loyal - they stick to one mate their whole life, and choose nobody else

1. The word "Flamingo" comes from the Spanish and Latin word "Flamenco" which means fire, and refers to the bright colour of the birds' feathers
2. There are 6 distinct species of Flamingo (Chilean, Lesser, Andean, James's, Greater & Caribbean)
3. The reason Flamingos are pink because of pigments found in their food called Carotenoids, these are responsible for the red and pink colors of their feathers
4. Flamingos can ONLY eat upside down
5. At rest, Flamingos stand on one leg to conserve body heat
6. Parent Flamingos feed their chicks exclusively Crop Milk for about 5-12 days after hatching
7. The Greater Flamingo is the largest Flamingo species and can measure up to five feet tall when standing erect with its head raised
8. The Lesser Flamingo is the smallest Flamingo species and can reach three feet tall and typically weighs 3-6 pounds
9. A flock of Flamingos is called a Stand, Colony, Regiment or a Flamboyance
10. Flamingos spend most of the day preening and wading

14. Flamingos knees seem to appear to bend backwards, but really that's actually their ankles!
15. Flamingos eat Algae, Crustacean, Brine Shrimp and Diatom
And the list can go on and on

-The name serval means "wolf-deer".
-Servals hunt birds by pouncing on them before they can fly away.
-They do not meow- they chirp.
-Servals can actually be melanistic, or all-black!
-Servals can interbreed with house cats, and when they do it is called a "Savannah."
-Servals are adorably awkward creatures and you must love them.

The Pearlscale Goldfish is a breed of Goldfish that originated in England. They have very round and compact bodies, and scales that look like pearls (unsurprisingly). The Crown pearlscale has a growth on it's head similar to that of the Oranda Goldfish, as opposed to the smooth heads possessed by other Pearlscales. They are good tankmates with other egg-shaped goldfish such as Fantails, Ryukins, and Black moors. Remember, it is never a good idea to mix single-tailed and twin-tailed goldfish in the same tank.

They live in family groups called packs that can consist of a few to twenty and even more. When the alpha female becomes pregnant, the other females will enter a "false pregnancy" so that the pups will have plenty to eat. They are able to breed with domesticated dogs.

''The beautiful red fox, with its bushy tail and dog-like face is an efficient nocturnal creature which has 48 sub-species of fox including colour variations termed silver or cross fox.
- A fox’s den is normally a burrow underground, also known as an ‘earth’, but they can also live above ground in a cosy hollow.
- While they are solitary animals, during breeding season (winter) when they court and mate, the dog fox will support the female (vixen) by bringing food for the family (early spring).
- You can often hear the mating calls, which is a sharp, high-pitched shrieking/screaming noise, which can sound quite terrifying.
- Vixens are occasionally assisted in rearing their cubs by a non-breeding sister or a female cub from a previous litter. These ‘aunts’ gain valuable experience which helps them to rear their own litter successfully the next season. Occasionally there can be two dog fox’s associated with one vixen.
- The cubs’ eyes and ears open after two weeks and at four weeks they will emerge from their dens. They have short noses which resemble puppies when born. However, many cubs die prematurely due to other predators (dogs, badgers), but their worst predator is the motor vehicle. They also can die of starvation or cold during hard winters.
- They catch small rodents with a characteristic high pounce. This technique is one of the first things cubs learn as they begin to hunt.
- Did you know that foxes have whiskers on their legs as well as around their faces, which they use to help them find their way?
- Foxes have also been known to climb trees and settle on low branches.
- Foxes are great night-time predators because their eyes are specially adapted to night vision. Behind the light sensitive cells lies another layer called the tapetum lucidum which reflects light back through the eye. This doubles the intensity of images received by the fox. Their eyes glow green when light is shone into them at night.
- The fox does not chew its food. Instead it uses its carnassial or shearing teeth to cut the meat into manageable chunks.
- A fox’s range varies from 10 hectares in cities to over 2000 hectares in rural area.
- Foxes belong to the canine family, which includes wolves, coyotes, grey foxes, raccoon dogs and their relatives. All members of this family are incredibly adaptable animals, and this makes them successful colonisers in many areas of the world practically in all habitats available and often in close proximity to humans.
- They were introduced to Australia in the mid-19th century and are native to Europe, Asia and North Africa.
- There are native and non-native red foxes in North America; the native foxes are a Canadian Boreal Forest species that historically occurred in the northern regions of North America. They colonised there shortly after the last glacial period, around 11,000 years ago. The non-native species were released by early European settlers for hunting purposes, as early as the mid 1700s.
- Over the centuries the fox has been hunted for its fur (and its’ tail cut-off which is used as the hunters trophy, known as a ‘brush’).
- Foxes are also caught in snares by some farmers and gamekeepers.
- Foxhunting was banned in Scotland in 2002 and England and Wales in 2004 under the Hunting Act. However this law is under threat of being repealed.''
There, foxes are awesome :U

My favourite animal is are humans. They are so funny. But they live too short. D:
Humans: Or homo sapiens, the dominating species on planet Earth. Earth is the third planet from the Sun. Has 1 moon.
Humans on average live 70-90 years ( So short its cute)
Humans give live birth and the fetus is incubated in an organ called the uterus. Humans are internally sex abled, meaning they don't lay eggs and have the male wipe his sperm on the eggs.
The organ systems of the humans are the skeletal system, nervous system, circular system, reproductive system, excretory system, digestive system, and the healing system.
Humans have nearly 100 billion neurons, and 24,000 genes. Humans are 99.8% chimpanzee, and are incredibly primitive.

Ball pythons are called ball pythons because they curl up into a ball when threatened.
A healthy ball python can live to be 30 years old.
Female ball pythons are longer than males.
*Got my information through web searches and by talking to experts.
Cockatiels are native to Australia. They can be found perching on wires!
They live around 16-25 years as pets.
Male cockatiels are more likely to learn to whistle than females.
Females have a tendency to be more filled with antics, just watch out for their bite!
*got the information from owners and a wikipedia search.
Parakeets are also native to Australia.
They are the most popular pet bird.
Males can learn to talk, but both genders are equally as likely to learn tricks.
Parakeets are very social birds. If not housed with other birds, they will bond to humans for a flock.
*I learned all the parakeet facts from owning a few in my life. My current one, Luna, can do flips, call back, and give kisses.

I enjoy all members of hyaenidae equally, but the hyena I know most about is the spotted hyena, so here is what I know about them.
- Spotted hyenas are a member within feliformia, and reside within their own family, known as hyaenidae
- Their cackles are ruled by a female matriarch, and the highest ranking male is still lower ranked than the lowest ranking female.
- Contrary to popular belief, Lions steal more food from hyenas than steal from lions.
- Hyena cubs are born with their eyes open and they're teeth functional, their teeth being can lead to hyena cubs accidentally killing each other while playing
- The hyena social system is very complex, similar to that of primates, each hyena will know every hyena in the cackle as an individual.
- Hyenas are very smart and learn from trial and error much like humans.
- Hyena cackles are usually very large possibly consisting of over 100 members, though the more common number is around 80
- Hyenas "laugh" when they are being aggressive
- Hyenas have a very strong jaw, able to crush bones, if one bites you, you'll be very lucky to get away.
- Hyenas are more active at night, like most predators in the savannah.
- One of their notable relatives, dinocrocuta, was about the size of a bear.

- they have a large wide alligator like snout, that's where it got it's name
- it's an opportunist hunter.
- they are now protected but nearly went extinct due to people thinking they are dangerous. When they are not
- Their eggs are poisonous and can kill humans
- they can breath air
- flood control dams have altered the rivers in which they need to spawn
- young alligator gars cannot live in saltwater

If there's one thing I love more than my favorite animals its learning about them:3
Allow me:
- Rabbits are not rodents. They are part of the lagomorphia family.
- Rabbits and hares cannot breed with each other despite physical similiarities. (Though there are breeds of rabbits that are called hare. They don't count)
- The largest breed of rabbit is called Flemish/Belgian giant. It can become 9 kilos and is bigger than a small dog.
- Rabbits are pregnant for 28-31 days and their young are furrless.
- As opposed to hares who are pregnant for around 40 days and their young are fully furred at birth.
- Domesticated rabbits originate in Spain (which by the way is across the ocean from the guinea pigs people stupidly pair them up with).
- Most rabbits do not enjoy being picked up and held. Personally I don't feel rabbits are a suitable pet for young children.
- The fluffiest breed if rabbit is the angora. Their fur is used to make yarn.
- Rabbit ears are not handlebars. Lifting a rabbit by its ears is incredibly painful and can cause permanent damage.
- Mother rabbits NEVER lift their young by the scruff of the neck (unless she wants to kill them...which can happen) and neither should you. Doing so can cause internal bleeding in the neck-area.
- Rabbits can live up to 10 years with proper care (my oldest is 9!)
- Carrots are not proper rabbit food. At best they should be given as an occasional treat.
- Rabbits don't have any muscles in their digestive system. To keep it going they have to eat hay constantly to literally push the food down.
- The Japanese word for rabbit is usagi.
- According to Japanese folklore there is a rabbit on the moon making rice balls.
