Description
Based on a request that I couldn't figure out how to word properly.Instead of just liking an animal because it's "cool" or "pretty" why not actually learn something about it?

Agreed so much. I love wolves despite the hoard of wolfaboos, and I like other canids as well. Yet I actually research them, rather than spout lies and retarded things like they're gentle, or have ranks in their packs.

the black palm cockatoo's beak is so large and powerful that it can't close it's mouth all the way! it also exerts about 1,500 pounds of pressure with that giant beak to crack open nuts.

Or better yet, learn about several animals and troll those who love certain animals just because they're cute with biological, arguably gruesome facts.

Sand tiger sharks can give birth to twins. However, the largest of the young will exhaust the nourishment provided by the egg and will devour it's siblings until that pup is the only one left. The pup will then stay in it's mother's womb for a year, surviving off of eggs and embryos.

Rabbits:
Rabbits have a near 360-degree vision and can even see what's behind them. They have only one blind spot right in front of their nose.
Rabbits are also popular in mythology. In culture, people believe that carrying a rabbitβs foot will bring good luck.

The 360 degree thing wasn't good enough for you? Oh well. All the cool kids are doing it sooo....
The (Asian) green vine snake's nose is long to help it gauge how near/far its prey is from its mildly venomous fangs. When kept in captivity they do best as display animals; vine snakes do not appreciate handling and can be prone to biting. Luckily the effects of their venom usually wear off after three days or so.

The Anglerfish you see and know are all females...the males of the species are very tiny, and bite into the female to procreate. They litterally fuse for life.

Numbat:
Was once widespread across southern Australia, now it's range is restricted to several small colonies, and is listed as endangered. Numbats are insectivores and eat an exclusive diet of termites. An adult numbat requires up to 20,000 termites each day. The only marsupial fully active by day, the numbat spends most of its time searching for termites. It digs them up from loose earth with its front claws and captures them with its long, sticky tongue. Adult numbats are solitary and territorial; an individual male or female establishes a territory of up to 1.5 square km (370 acres) early in life, and defends it from others of the same gender.

Hyenas:
Originated in the jungles of Miocene Eurasia 22 million years ago.
Are NOT dogs. Closely related to mongoose and cats than dogs.
Has one of the strongest jaws in the animal kingdom.
Brown hyenas, Striped hyenas, and Spotted hyenas.
Can best a wolf in a one-on-one fight, but will not best a group of them.
Spotted and Brown hyenas can eat humans, so keeping them as a pet? Not a good idea.
Grooms selves like felids.
Fake deaths.
Victims of lions, and wild dogs, so they can feign death. This applies to Striped and Brown hyenas, but Spotted hyenas will fight back.
Vocalizes using whoops, grunts, groans, lows, giggles, yells, growls, laughs and whines.
Females are more dominant. Even the lowest ranking female is higher than a male.
Females have pseudopenises and will rarely show interest in mating.
Immigrant male hyenas are more effective in mating that local males.

I love rats. They're intelligent, loving, playful and one of the best pets you can keep. I'm forever telling people that out of several hundred other species, only blacks and browns are the truly problematic ones. They don't seem to get it. They seem to think like this (exaggerated, no offence intended): ERMERGAWD an endangered native rat! It's gonna breed to their thousands, kill our cute pets and children, eat all our food, inflict us with the bubonic plague and wipe us all out! Where's the rat poison?! They can't vomit, so it's perfect for dealing out the most painful, unfair death ever thought of!
I had so much fun typing that xD
But yes. Rats are my favourite animal, and while the cuteness is a factor, I love them for more than meets the eye. The things social media rarely tells you about.
Like:
Rats are capable of feeling most, if not all, basic human emotions, and evidence suggests they feel secondary emotions like empathy, frustration and jealousy.
They can and will share.
They're really playful and it's possible to have play fights with them
They're intelligent for a little animal, capable of figuring out simple puzzles.

*cringes at my comment from two years ago*
Anyway...foxes bark, yip, yiff (a sound foxes make during playtime, also during fights over territory), growl, scream (was theorized to be a mating call by females, but with the realization that males also scream and females scream outside of mating season besides, the exact reason behind the scream isn't entirely known; also make another sound similar to a scream, but generally used to summon its mate for some sort of help), and, contrary to popular belief, howl (starts as a short series of barks that extends into a single, lightly-warbling note; not used nearly as often as wolf howls, obviously).
They're not always a solid red or orange with distinctive black socks and white underbelly, as they often have a 'tarnished' look, and some are more gray-black than they are red or orange or yellow-orange (aka cross foxes). Silver foxes are a rare occurance in the wild, though they're becoming something of a popular exotic pet amongst fox ownership enthusiasts.
I know a little more about foxes, but I think I've blathered enough...

Chihuahuas:
Smallest breed of dog
First bred by the Toltecs of Mesoamerica

Only breed of dog to be born with a "soft spot" on the head
Gets cold easily
Likes heat (If your chihuahua is panting, go inside. It's too hot!)
Very delicate throats; harness preferred to collar
Prone to eye infections, hypoglycemia and epilepsy

Tigers
Can eat up to 80 pounds of food in a day (but then won't eat for several days)
Only around 3000 left in the wild
Have striped skin
'Chuff' when they're happy/pleased
Have four-inch-long canines, two inches of which are rooted in the gums
Have two-inch-long claws
Spray things to mark their territory
White tigers are cross-eyed
Their bellies sag as they get older, like most big cats do (like how people get wrinkles when they get older)

I could go on and on about every animal I love, but I'm not sure everybody wants to scroll so much just to see a comment other than mine. I could write huge books just on domestic catfish and goldfish alone! I'd like to write one actually. I also want to write one about my experiances raising americal swallowtails.

I know right? Infact, they're closer to the family of kangaroos and koala's then a dog.. infact, they're actually closer to cats then dogs. (Not saying they are cats but there ancestry lines connect quicker to a cat then a dog)
they don't even look like dogs most of the time..
