Instead of just liking an animal because it's "cool" or "pretty" why not actually learn something about it?

Hyenas are not marsupials. They are feliform carnivorans related to cats.

Platypus: Found in eastern Australia, born the size of lima beans, grow to be about one foot long, males have poisonous hind legs, mammals, lay eggs, aren't actually secret agents in the suburbs of some tri-state area, live in small tunnels they dig along the side of rivers, and much more.

They are also cool and pretty.

mine's the fish, the abyss is no haven for any fish (even certain sharks) since the tempeture is cold and dark and only certain fish like the angler have to produce light to at least surive.

I consider those as rats.

Indeed. I must add, instead of liking it just because it's popular, learn something about it. Haha. I love wolves, but I'm not the kind of "Oh wolves have blue eyez and they rox my sox because of that" kind of person. I also love horses but not because they are so popular. xD. I think "Sparkle Dogs" are a bit more entertaining when the artist actually knows a thing or two about the animal BEFORE they turn it into a fantasy animal.

It's extremely rare for a wolf to have 'blue' eyes in adulthood, but they're NEVER husky-dog blue...they're either slate blue or gray.

This stamp is my favourite. I don't give a damn if someone likes an animal that people consider "overrated" and in fact, I think the use of that word in conjuncture with animals is pretty silly. But if they claim that wolves, foxes, tigers, etc. are their -FAVOURITE- animals in the whole wide world. If they FEEL like they are one, or have a special bond with them...

They should at least know something about them for chrissakes. I mean. Real info.

If I remember correctly, there's a specific herd of dear in...Ireland? Anyway, because they're more or less trapped/confined to a certain area, and the lake nearby is too salty, they hunt down birds and drink their blood for liquid sustenance.
There's a subspecies of wolf that eat a specific fruit during the dry season, and are (apparently) the only creature that eats said fruit. Don't remember where they're from, though
There's also a breed of cave horse that was thought to be extinct until...what was it, the mid-90's? They were thriving quite well on this one island, and are also one of the most vicious of wild horses.
I could rattle on about these things for years

hissing cockroaches are actually really quite clean, as they have microscopic..creatures? bugs? I'm not sure what they are, I can't remember, but they live on them, and clean the hissers, which I think is kind of adorable, it's like your own cleaning crew haha xD
And also, if you keep them as pets, from what I've read, is they start to identify you, and won't hiss at you if you pick them up or touch them.

Monkfish can weigh up to 25 pounds! And they are semi-caniballistic, and can eat sea birds!

And venomous snakes have different venom potency, etc. depending on what their main prey item is. Not all of them are dangerous to humans. I like how pythons can strangle their prey using their entire body!

I learned a whole bunch about my favorite animal. I learned that bison kill and injure more people every year in the US than any other wild animal. I also learned that they're considered more intelligent than cattle, though that isn't really saying much. I read that they're more likely to attack than run away and that they don't take crap from anybody. Bison don't make good pets either.

I hate all those ignorant kids that love wolves because they are 'bigfluffy dogs'. No.

I am in love with the wolf and the maned wolf (two seperate animals, only relation being canine) and I know quite a bit about each. I know a lot about hyena's, too.

Cats have no collar bone, their whiskers extend out to the width of their body, they have a distant relation to the mongoose family, wild cats rarely have their tails raise above their spine, tigers have striped skin, it's not uncommon for a white domestic cat with blue eyes to be deaf, a Siamese cat's fur changes color based on which parts of it's body are cooler (this is what gives them their 'point' markings), lions have a vestigial barb at the end of their tails, etc, etc...

Is that enough? I could always go on... ¬w¬

Oh, other non-related facts: red pandas are not related to giant pandas (their in their own genus), yet they have a thumb-like wrist bone just like the giant panda does.

Both the hyena and Tasmanian wolf look like members of the canine family, their not. Hyenas actually have a closer relation to cats than dogs (they're even in the suborder Feliformia), and the Tasmanian wolf is actually a marsupial.

...Okay, I cheated a bit, but only for checking the Scientific info. Everything else I knew beforehand. :3

Anyway, I support this.

Studies were done on cuttlefish to test just how smart they are. In one study, someone put a cuttlefish in a small maze. It had two doors - one was outlined in a solid color, one in stripes. If a fake plant was placed in the maze, it meant the striped door is the way out, and the other was covered with glass. If a brick was placed in there, the solid-color door leads out.
The cuttlefish learned this, which shows they can reason and make decisions.

In another test to see if they can learn a behavior, they put a fake fish in the cuttlefish tank. The cuttlefish tried to eat it and obviously couldn't, so then it left it alone. The biologist then put real fish in there a few seconds after dropping the fake one in. Guess what... the cuttlefish learned.

They have the biggest brain-to-body size ratio of all invertebrates. While humans have the biggest at all, cuttlefish and octopi rival each other for the #2 spot.

I could write so much more on these little guys aswell.
