I'm having a hard time believing this is done. A personal full colour piece (the first in a long while) which served as a practise on many things and turned out decent at that, with the help of many wonderful people both from DA and ConceptArt.I've had these questions a lot in it's progress while I was streaming, so I'll answer them to avoid having to answer them again in comments; every scale on the dragon as well as every strand of grass was hand drawn. I did not use any custom brushes, the standard hard-edge brush was used for the entire piece, with a few strokes of a soft edge brush here and there. Textures were used only for the rocks, and one for the base of the grass which I painted over so much that it was practically of no use xD.
I'd like to thank everyone that watched me work on this on LiveStream for their support and interest, and just for the fun :3. As well as those who read the entire description ;D.

Amazing job on the textures, here. That goes for the foreground and the character herself as well as the background.
The way you portrayed the mountains in the background is extremely effective...it reminds me of photos I've seen of rocky hills.

I know that you must get a lot of comments like this, but I think it's absolutely wonderful that you do everything by hand. So many people that draw, especially digitally, tend to use preset brushes and textures for so many things, and I guess it's refreshing to see an artist that does most everything by hand (so to speak.)
I love every little scale, every blade of grass, the clouds and the river. But the piece as a whole is beautiful, I wouldn't be able to pick a favorite part ^ ^
And you're very talented at drawing and designing as well, not just good at the details :3

This is amazing! The background is great and fairly realistic, the scales are beautiful, the dragon design is simple but cool, and everything from color to anatomy is flawless. Doing the grass and scales manually definitely paid off.

Majestic and imposing at the same time ^^ And wow.. I can imagine all those scales took a while to paint one by one XD
(and this really proves that you don't have to use a lot of custom flashy brushes to get an amazing job done).
The background looks very realistic, not only in style, but also all the pieces fit together so that it might have been an actual place ^^. I love that, it's truly fantastic to be able to paint fantasy as if it was real.

This is so beautiful and I'm so glad you went for the blue!
I remember seeing the first WIPs from this. I really like how you added those clouds on the far right side, it really helped to balance out the painting. The overall composition as I said before it fantastic with the blue dragon, blue sky and blue water. The blue and green is very complimentary to each other. The detail you put into the scales and rocks really paid off, I can tell how much work you but into them. It really raises the quality of the piece.
I love the background overall, I wish I could be sitting up there with that dragon.
