I need some help, I opened up the brushform.conf for option 2 in word pad and, although the name was there, there was no writting, data, nothing. It was basically like just opening up a new sheet, it was completely blank.

and did you try writing what I highlighted in the tutorial and save it? Maybe it was blank because you didn't have any textures installed in your SAI yet.

For some reason I can see the elemap I downloaded listed in the notepad document, but it isn't showing up in sai at all. ._.
Do you happen to know how I could fix this?

ChildOfMoonlight In reply to SageMint [2013-02-07 13:41:03 +0000 UTC]

did you do all the steps I described in the tutorial? Did you save and did you have your SAI open while installing the brush?

SageMint In reply to ChildOfMoonlight [2013-02-08 08:29:01 +0000 UTC]

Yep sure did, and nope Sai was closed. I fixed it by putting the file in all of the other folders(i.e blotmap, brushtex ectr ) then it showed up where it was supposed to. Weird lol O.O thanks anyway

well that is weird but I'm glad you found a way to install it in the end

I did everything you said, and triple checked I spelled everything right, but when I draw with the new brush, it's not grass, it's a different texture :I

KiraKats In reply to ??? [2012-08-05 04:40:23 +0000 UTC]

is this perhaps out of date now? because I have a bit of a problem...

I did everything right; and I've triple-checked that I saved the "2,elemap\Rough Round 2 gr.bmp" (copied directly from the notepad; so I spelled it right), but The texture isn't showing on my SAI. I've also tried re-starting my computer, but the texture still isn't showing up when I try to draw please help, I can take screen shots of it if it would give you a better Idea of whats wrong....

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ChildOfMoonlight In reply to KiraKats [2012-08-05 11:30:23 +0000 UTC]

If you say you did everything right and yet the texture doesn't show up in SAI, the only explanation I have is that you already have too many textures in your SAI. SAI can only handle 50 or 80 textures I heard, so maybe if you copy your whole SAI folder, delete most of the textures in that copied folder and instal my brush again, it might work.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

KiraKats In reply to ChildOfMoonlight [2012-08-05 16:33:54 +0000 UTC]

no, this is my first time installing a texture, so I only have the original textures besides what i've tried to download with yours ;-;

Hi! I hope you don't mind me asking ...
but for some reason it's not working. I have that green "Start-sai.exe" button, but when I click it, he says he can't (createprocess failed with 2)
When I try going for the 2end option, I'm the problem (I'm pretty sure I'm doing something wrong) Do I need to copy all those files into my SAI Folder?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ChildOfMoonlight In reply to Nynke-FmnF [2012-07-18 19:53:07 +0000 UTC]

first you need to copy the .bmp file into the elemap folder of your SAI folder. After that you open the "brushform.conf" file and at the bottom of the list you write exactely what I underlined red (which is marked blue), then you click on "save", close the .conf file and open your SAI normally

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Nynke-FmnF In reply to ChildOfMoonlight [2012-07-18 20:25:31 +0000 UTC]

well that's where it goes wrong. What is supposed to open? SAI paint tools just opens ... I am supposed to paste that file into my SAI Folder?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ChildOfMoonlight In reply to Nynke-FmnF [2012-07-18 21:28:39 +0000 UTC]

yes, well.....that's exactely what it says is my tutorial "now you copy the file "Rough Round 2 gr.bmp" into the elemap folder of your SAI folder." .....is it that hard to understand? Γ³_Γ²

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Nynke-FmnF In reply to ChildOfMoonlight [2012-07-18 21:36:23 +0000 UTC]

no, but I'm trying to figure out what I'm misunderstanding. Up till now, everything is correct, except for the fact it's not working -.-"

darkflame53 In reply to ??? [2012-07-18 00:01:27 +0000 UTC]

Okay so, I edited the brushform text file and put it in manually after simply pressing the star-sai.exe didnt work.
So I went back and clicked start-sai AGAIN after manually entering the line for the brush, but it's STILL not showing up.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ChildOfMoonlight In reply to darkflame53 [2012-07-18 11:00:00 +0000 UTC]

hm, when you typed it in manually and saved after that, you don't need the start-sai.exe, just open your sai the normal way. As for why it's still not showing up, did you copy the .bmp file into your elemap folder?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ChildOfMoonlight In reply to HTFlakysuper1107 [2012-07-16 11:36:52 +0000 UTC]

hm, so you can open the .conf file but can't write anything in it?
Maybe you could check if you set the file so that no one is allowed to change it, like you can do with folders, other than that I have no idea, sorry Γ³_Γ²

Lunalune In reply to ??? [2012-05-22 11:04:40 +0000 UTC]

I have the same problem that ally-oop. I put "rough round 2 gr" in the folder "elemap", next I click on "start-sai.exe"
What do you mean by "put the texture in the brush"? Just choose the texture on the list? Because its what i have done, and like ally, it doesn't look like grass, it's only a brush like others :/

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ChildOfMoonlight In reply to Lunalune [2012-05-23 22:22:08 +0000 UTC]

that's really strange, it should take the shape of the texture......hm :/ Maybe the texture wasn't registered in the .conf file, try doing the "2nd option" of the tutorial.
If it doesn't work then, maybe it's a problem with your tablet?

Uh I don't have the spread option "Rough rough ground 2". I have all the other settings set correctly but it still looks like a normal brush.. And I don't know what an Elemap folder is, so I can't download.

Where and what's an Elemap folder?

Heh, hi!

I was trying to instal your brush and the first option doesn't work for me. I was trying to do the second one but... it neither works! i open the archive brushform in wordpad and Notebook but there's nothing like if it were in white.

Is nice brush :c please heeellp~

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ChildOfMoonlight In reply to BrookeScythe [2012-05-06 10:00:49 +0000 UTC]

hm....well you know it doesnt really matter if there's already something in the conf file or not, you read that you have to write something in it and save, right? Did you try that and still didn't have the brush in your SAI program?

It's not about this brush, it's about the brushes in general.
I cannot make it look like pressure

YaoiBLonde In reply to ??? [2012-04-02 23:56:18 +0000 UTC]

Okay um, I know I lost the start-say exe file so I tried the 2nd option, but then when I go to save the brush form, it says "is in use by another application and cannot be accessed."

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ChildOfMoonlight In reply to YaoiBLonde [2012-04-03 17:55:27 +0000 UTC]

did you have SAI open while you did this? Or did you have another folder open maybe? Try to only have the folder open where you want to save the brush form, that should work I think...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

YaoiBLonde In reply to ChildOfMoonlight [2012-04-03 18:26:10 +0000 UTC]

Nope, still saying the same thing, but it's only with that file. Probably have to restart...I shall do that.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

YaoiBLonde In reply to ChildOfMoonlight [2012-04-03 18:07:29 +0000 UTC]

I did have it open at first, but then I did it again with it closed, but it said that again. All I had was the folder open and my browser open. But I'll try it again.

ChildOfMoonlight In reply to YaoiBLonde [2012-04-04 11:16:18 +0000 UTC]

If that's so then I don't know why it won't work, sorry Γ³_Γ² Maybe the people in the official SAI forum can help you

how can I add my brushes then?

if you get pictures instead of names in your folder you might want to change the way your explorer displays things....I can't help you with that though, because every computer system is different and I'm not good with those things
