Now, that is a ridiculous resolution.
All in all, this probably took me a good two months to complete. It is by far the most work I've put into a piece of art like this, and it was an interesting challenge. It was much larger than my monitor, so I just hope the perspective and composition looks good.
The composition on this piece was extremely challenging for me. I wanted to make all three segments work well as standalone images, but also fit together as a whole. I think it worked out well in the end here.
It was a difficult piece, but it was very satisfying.

The piece on the right is what started the whole thing.
Getting the detail level right on the different pieces was a challenge, but it was an interesting project, too.

did you plan out all three before you started, or did you just make the one than go from there?

I didn't plan them in advance. I made the first one, after some major difficulty, and some people wondered what was on the other side of the battlefield.
After a little thought, I realized that it could be a rather interesting project if I added on to it, so I decided to make the other two pieces at that point.

I like the decision to add the extra extensions to this piece, it really adds more to the atmosphere of it. I like how you carried out the fade in a gentle fashion without a solid barrier. Would suit a website banner this by the look of things and could almost be a scene from my novel too

Wow. You certainly are dedicated to your work, and I am glad to get to see this now. My only issue is why the golom army has hang-gliders of its side? lol, otherwise, this is definitely one of my favorite works of art ever.

The gliders are mainly there to provide some sort of semi-mechanical air units for them.
It helps balance out the two sides, a bit.
