Description
Apparently I have the demeanor of a drill SargentΒ with the twisted nature of a demented Cheshire Cat when angry. Today, I had to deal with someone who thought that procedure did not apply to them, an American I might add, so, a bit of my darker nature came out to flaunt itself across the stage.Several others I had worked with in the past knew the warning signs, 'aka I'm about to put someone's face through the floor' and to their credit, politely reminded me that it would be frowned upon if I attempted to 'Eat the American's soul'. Grudgingly I corrected the individual, and did not, for the record inflict any lasting harm. save for psychological terror.
It took a lot of coffee and some deep breaths, but I managed to shake the feelings off after several hours.
Funny how some things cling with you over the years, I didn't put much thought as to what brought this on, and have sense then tried to bury the whole incident very deep in the back of my head.
Not sleeping well tonight though.

When you get drunk enough - you all sing the same songs. Before I took my language certifications....they gave us all a couple of shots of whisky to loosen up. Never had a problem with the words after that!

We had bets to try and figure out what it was, along with the weird writing.

"There I was; no bullshit! Inverted!"

I think the best rendition of the story I heard was when he was boasting to a bunch of Marines who had spotted 'The Pig' I believe their first comment was, 'F*** that things staring at me!'
"Fuck!"
I think I remember someone saying something about violating the Geneva convention, cruel and unusual torture means, and the like. And when he really got it going, I swear you could see it's face moving! (The later may have been booze assisted.)
From that night, I remember him going on, the story involved Vietnamese Witch Doctors, and our 'Daring escape.'

There are days that I know that I did all that back before the rise of digital cameras. And yet...I wish there were proof of some of our more...."interesting" exploits. Probably better there isn't.
π: 0 β©: 1
Code-Shark In reply to Magick205 [2016-11-13 22:32:46 +0000 UTC]
Trust me, it is best that an and all 'exploits' are kept to Eye witness accounts. This way when the police begin to ask around for 'Two men in squid hats, that appeared to be driving an M1-4 Battle Tank' such accounts are dismissed as ravings, probably caused by an unseen gas leak.

It's a lot better than some of the things we did. Trust me. - and yes, one year, we built a cardboard frame around a Metro, pulled some snow machine tracks, and after a LOT of detail painting we had ourselves a Tank that looked authentic from 10ft away. So, we put on our squid hats and decided to drive through the less occupied portions of town.
Best Day ever.

Nice. If you did that around here in KS you'd probably freak out all the preppers who think that the end of the world is nigh. But then again, it's always been so if you ask them.

Funny truth, the further you get from civilization, the less people arch their eyebrows at crazy shenanigans. Heck, when I was up in AK, you didn't need a license for half the stuff you would thing you would! π: 0 β©: 1
I have to say, AK probably has the crazies people (In the US that I have met)
Another great example: guy I knew up there applied for his Experimental home build permit for an Aircraft. As I was going to be co-pilot for the flight, I got to go to the FAR to register. The conversation went a bit like this:
FAR: Name?
Charlie: Charles.
FRA: Type of aircraft?
Charlie: Experimental.
FRA: Materials used?
Charlie: Mostly two by fours, and rubber inner-tubes.Β
FRA
I Kid you not. She didn't even bat an eye!

Funny you should say AK - One of the guys I knew when I went and got my A&P was from around Anchorage. He said he and his friends took a whole buncha old tires up on one of the local peaks...and set them on fire. Supposedly caused a volcano panic. When the nights are long....you find ways to amuse yourself.

I usually never have the impulse to vent at someone in such a manner, after some thought I suspect their additude to the situations reminded me of an old professor I had with an ego that was almost tangible.
