Description
This is my tutorial to draw a mecha/ninja.In it, I discuss topics for EVERY single step along the way as well as a pretty indepth look into how I go about drawing this piece. This piece took about 3 hours in total. Sorry for the long load...but, it's QUITE big...

What tools did you use to make this? It seems as though you didn't use a special program to make this piece.

Great tutorial. The thing I find hardest when drawing any figure is the pose. I'm working on my own robot design at the moment and I only have it in a standing position. As you say at the beginning, you need to plan ahead, which is something that I don't do often, but I really think I should.

Thanks. I wish I could agree with you about it being effortlessly though. Mecha gets so tricky so often....this design was relatively simple. I've yet to manage to pull together a more elaborate design.

i mean try to infuse your mechas with different classes.. like how you had the a ninja mech.. try fusing warrior, pirate, rougue, assassin, alien tech, maybe a dragon even.. something extra.. jus some ideas i had to share..i love mechs.. so i'll post some up soon..

Ohh...haha, classes. Well, it was just a tutorial, so the focus wasn't as much on design as it is on technique, so I kinda wanted to keep it simple...ummm...generic, so to speak. When you start adding in various details and whatnot, it can potentially get quite complicated...and their respective designs would make them each quite unique so I'd probably need a new guide for each one.

oh..ok.. i'm trying to see if i can re-create the Gundam Wing series.lol..(which is like kinda impossible because it was sooo AWESOME!!) but i want to change the time period.. i'm basically experimenting with how mechs can be used.. so in this one i'm placing it around the middle ages.. the comic is taking a hell of alot of work to pull off..since i got to make up character design, mech design, background, and storyline.(^_^).. so i'm browsing the net for inspiration..but you got lots of talent.. you got SKILLZZZZ..

Nice tutorial, and you have excelent stlye.
I really liked your shading technique, and it was nice to show the buildup from the pre planing stage.
I always have trouble working from a base point up and usualy have to refer to some kind of reference.

Use a shading stump...use your pencil and shade in an area and make it gradually decrease...then use stump to blend it out.

Seems like a good idea but looks difficult since I have problems with sketching. What is suppose to be easy for everyone else is hard for me even though I know sketching like this would make the body posture better.
