Description Pinch of Salt
EWS © 2010

Inspiration: Inspiration is from H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu’s writings, Henning Ludvigsen’s artwork and specifically ‘The Innsmouth Cook’ and watching a few cooking shows. This is the next concept that I have been working on that started with Iron Chef of Arkham and includes the portrait of H.P. Lovecraft.

DAZ Studio, GIMP, Hexagon

C&C are welcome.
Thank you

It's a great image. I hope she gets that salt into the pot without becoming dinner for the calamari.

Very nice! And so much details... my computer would certainly have exploded while the rendering of all those things at once. The saturated colors really bring the scene alive.

Great work! Was going to ask where some of the stuff like the stove and pots come from, but I'm guessing you modeled those. Kudos to you on that! I have yet to tackle that particular aspect as yet, even tho I have multiple programs I could try to learn. Too many toys, too little time LoL

Thank you very much! I have been learning lots working on this. I know what you mean about to many programs. I just passed on Z-Brush as I feared I would stop making progress everywhere. I plan on re-doing a few of the models to fix or improve them.. I keep learning better ways. I am learning how to package the cr2 then one day release them for anyone that wants.

Thank you very much! My goal is to model/texture as many of the items as I can. Making progress. Some things I do not expect to model anytime soon... like people. Need to learn how to setup the files soon too.

That's my goal too. Trying to get my hands around ZBrush for modeling - it hurts! lol But kudos to you again for great textures and overall design, and lighting skill! Excellent and inspiring!

I been working with ZBrush too. 8 days left on my trial and then I have to decide. I like Hexagon (the fact that it was inexpensive helps but no idea when it might be updated). ZBrush has a uvmap tool that I have not tried yet but am interested in. G'luck with the ZBrush will be interested to see what you develop. Thanks much.

jrmalone In reply to DBRv6 [2010-04-27 11:37:51 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! Yeah, I also have Hexagon - much cheaper than ZB. My buddy is giving me some lessons on it. I'm torn with ZBrush too. If you watch those online demos it looks so freakin easy and amazing! LOL! But then I get in there and it's lumps of crap. LOL! Good luck too with you too. I'm interested to see too what you come out with - sure it will be awesome!
