Description
My theta-delta necklace. The theta-delta is the official unofficial symbol for therianthropy. The pendent is about 2 inches by 3 inches or so big and is made of bisqueware.Iβve warn the thing for several years off and on, and its taken a beating for it, but it still in fairly good shape. I keep thinking about making more of them to for others who might want one, but I have never gotten around to doing that at this point yet.

So you think that oven clay doesn't work as well? I've been considering making one in Sculpty.

Iβve never worked with clay which can be hardened properly in an oven. (Iβve only worked with kiln needed clay.) I think the only real limitation is hardness. As long as the final product is hard enough, I think it would work fine but if its not it could easily break under usual wear and tare.

I have also made a necklace similar to this, but mine is missing the very middle of it. ( I'm trying to find something that will stay in the middle )

Because the oneβs Iβm getting ready to make are of off white clay, they will come out off white, but clay is rather easy to paint its been fired. (The one in the photo was done with brown clay before my art teacher switched.)
I do plan on making a dozen or so to sell because people want/like this one so well, but it will probably be well into the end of this year till I get them back. (I have to go by the owner of the kilnβs time frame for firing, not my own :/ ).
Iβve yet to really decide on a price once theyβre (finally) done, but I plan on only selling them shipping costs plus maybe a few dollars more. I doubt Iβll end up selling them anything over 15 dollars or so, if even that that.

Very cool, how did you make it?
Iβd make a few of them & sell them, Iβm sure fellow kin would want one.
Plus there is something about it being old that adds to its appeal.

I know, and Iβd love to be able to make more. Its made of clay which was just fired in a kiln so that it hardened into bisqueware. The only thing that is stopping me is the need for a kiln.

Correct me if Iβm wrong, I know nothing about this sort of thing.
But wouldnβt a normal oven do the job?

Unfortunately, no. A standard oven only reaches about 600 or so degrees F, and for a proper bisque you would need at least 1800 degrees F if not more. Iβve looked into air drying and oven βclayβ before, but the result is much more fragile and not near as a smooth finish.

Ya, I want to make more, because my intent after I made mine was to make more to sell for a few dollars or cents to whom ever wanted one (it was very easy to make), but lately my access to a kiln to fire any clay has been nil.
However, if I do find a means of making more, Iβll certainly give everyone at the Therian Pride group the heads up. ^_^

Beautiful!!
You definitely did a great job crafting this-- and yes! You should make more when you get time. I'm sure a LOT of others would be interested in ordering
