I probably wouldn't keep the arm feathers as full and wing-like if I were to redo this.

I'm sure he'll molt one day and look more like his parents.  Birds often change colors as they age.

Or it could be a mail man situation-

Chomper's Father: Why is our son-?

A pinkish purple T-Rex smirks from the distance.

Chomper's Father's eyes narrow.

That's actually my favorite theory so far.  Damn.

it always confused me how a Brass coloured T.Rex + a Black T.rex = a Purple T.Rex

still this looks super cool

That's just the way nature works sometimes. Look at these mallards for instance images.fineartamerica.com/imag… If going by real life logic Chomper should grow to have the same color as his father.

Oh look, the dad's smiling for the camera.

Evodolka In reply to Magnolia667 [2017-07-22 22:43:38 +0000 UTC]

i guess that makes sense
but they have that pattern to help them hide from larger predators while chomper was purple
i guess it is just a style choice

Cartoon logic. In real life a purple coat would stick out like a sore thumb.

it's kindof a muted brown green in The Land Before Time 2, depending on the lighting.

Why in the world did you make chomper fuzzy?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EmilyStepp In reply to LordElthibar [2015-10-31 03:05:51 +0000 UTC]

because he's a juvenile tyrannosaur

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LordElthibar In reply to EmilyStepp [2015-10-31 05:37:15 +0000 UTC]

But why is he fuzzy?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EmilyStepp In reply to LordElthibar [2015-10-31 08:27:42 +0000 UTC]

Because tyrannosaurs were likely covered in feathers - especially the young.

ThalassoAtrox In reply to LordElthibar [2015-11-04 01:42:27 +0000 UTC]

Please stop it since you obviously don't know what your talking about, like it or not that theory is now a proven fact and accepted by everyone in the scientific community.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LordElthibar In reply to ThalassoAtrox [2015-11-04 01:47:17 +0000 UTC]

You first. Not every scientist accepts this.

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

EmilyStepp In reply to LordElthibar [2015-11-01 06:10:01 +0000 UTC]

You don't have to accept it, but it's what the scientific community is leaning toward now.  It's fine if you like unscientific outdated representations, but it doesn't mean I have to draw them.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LordElthibar In reply to EmilyStepp [2015-11-01 19:08:35 +0000 UTC]

Unscientific? There were never any feathers found on the skeleton of a tyrannosaurus so it seems to me that the previous conclusion is more scientific.

There was no fossil evidence to support the fact that tyrannosaurus had feathers.

ThalassoAtrox In reply to LordElthibar [2016-08-15 18:44:51 +0000 UTC]

Really? Ever heard of Yutyrannus and Dilong dumdum. Both have plenty of evidence of having been covered in feathers, both are tyrannosaurs and the later is the ancestor of all American tyrannosaurs including T.Rex.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LordElthibar In reply to ThalassoAtrox [2016-08-15 20:12:48 +0000 UTC]

No, there were no feathers found on the tyrannosaurus. That's balderdash. And where are the fossils linking every transitional species from that bird to the Tyrant Lizard King?

No, they will never find them. Every keeps saying 'not yet' for the last 150 years and no fossils of proof for evolution have been found what-so-ever.

Taliesaurus In reply to LordElthibar [2016-09-25 08:27:22 +0000 UTC]

that is a bit different I meant in terms of the body covering or internal anatomy, and I simply meant be a bit open minded
because there have been many discoveries suggesting that not only raptor or tyrannosaurs had feathers
but also dinosaurs like-
Therizinosaurs-massive peaceful herbivore with giant fore-claws that are surprisingly are a close relative of tyrannosaurs
Orinthomimmids- Ostrich like dinosaurs that run up to speeds of 70 kph
Covecaveonator- allosaur theropod with strange dorsal fin and covered quills, especially the arms
Kulindadromeus- An ornithopod from the triassic period with a scaly tail, but it's body is completely covered in downy fluff
Pegomastax- An Ornithopod from Triassic Africa with tusks and covered in porcupine like quills (protofeathers)
psittacosaurus- ancestor of triceratops from middle Cretaceous, with undeniable evidence of bristly porto-feathers covering the tail

LordElthibar In reply to Taliesaurus [2016-09-25 17:47:41 +0000 UTC]

Open minded? It's more like wildly assumptive. And just the assumption that an ostrich runs that fast claiming that the dinosaurs are related is the fallacy of assumption, considering that the cheetah can run that fast. No, quills are not the same as proto-featheres and something like that would more than likely have served as a defense mechanism.

also if all your gonna do is disagree with evidence (without good evidence of your own), Then you might as well be considered a "David Peters"

I mean, look at his what he thinks of pterosaurs

1-Rhamphorynchus

His version- nemo-ramjet.deviantart.com/art…

Proper version (based on proper fossil evidence)-alternateprehistory.deviantart…

2-Pteranodon

His version- nemo-ramjet.deviantart.com/art…

Proper version (based on proper fossil evidence)- tuomaskoivurinne.deviantart.co…

And even when evidence and professional paelotogists show him evidence he just turns them down and refuses to accept new evidence

Please don't be like him...

Their ancestors had feathers, therefore due to phylogenetic bracketing - we can assume they were also feathered.  www.wired.com/2012/04/yutyrann…

Look, just because one animal, even if it was the tyrannosaurus ancestor, had feathers it doesn't mean that tyrannosaurs itself did. There needs to be fossil evidence on tyrannosaurus itself had those feathers.
