Description Dec. 10, 2009

Revised Helen's face, back, legs and colouring. Thank you for the amazing feedback!

--------------------------

β€œIn Greek mythology, Helen better known as Helen of Sparta or Helen of Troy, was daughter of Zeus and Leda, wife of king Menelaus of Sparta and sister of Castor, Polydeuces and Clytemnestra. Her abduction by Paris brought about the Trojan War.” source: Wikipedia

This character captivates me, not only because she was said to be so incredibly beautiful and a semi-goddess, but because of the ambiguity that surrounds her. Some sources say that she left her husband to be with Paris of her own will and others say she was forced and remained in Troy a prisoner. Was she a selfish cheating wife or a loyal one, trapped in a society controlled by the whims of men? Was she simply in love? Was she tricked? Was she rebelling?

...

So, here's Helen, readying herself for a bath.

Photoshop CS3 - a very long time.

Whatever is said about Helen of Troy, she captivated the hearts of men during the Trojan War; indeed it was her ravishing beauty that caused the launching of a thousand ships. She remains the woman that every man would like to have today!

She is quite beautiful, and I'm talking about her face. Not her butt, and her boobs but her FACE. I'm glad their are no perverts here. One time I saw the live chat on a live stream, and people were saying really sexual and weird stuff to BOTH people (there was a boy and a girl.) I was just like: wtf?

Yeah. One time I heard about this creeper guy who thought he was talking to a 14 year old girl (it was actually a policeman) and he sent a picture of his bent arm where the guy thought it was a VAGINA! How Pervy can you get?! Seriously!

I like to imagine a thoughtful Helen seated onΒ an authentic-looking Late Bronze AgeΒ privy in the palace of Troy, brooding over war mattersΒ while she takes an elegant dump.

"Was she a selfish cheating wife or a loyal one, trapped in a society controlled by the whims of men?"

I've always wondered the truth of this myself, but have to say this is gorgeous artwork. Love this era of history and you did her legend great justice!

"Sticking to a path" is inconsistent with really, any creative process we call arts. What I probably should have said is "You done good so far little lady!I've been down many paths and still stay alert to a new and promising one. Now brownies I like, but have found more than a very little doesn't improve my work, I just think it's fantastic until the next day. so, ignore the "path and sticking to it"!
