You better not be trying to take the the little penguin-noodle's hoard! They'll nip you REALLY HARD if you try! D:<

My entry for 's contest. My main element was "gold" and my chosen attributes are:
- Doesn't match the colour of the element
- Aquatic dragon + gills
- Markings

The Sunken Dragons' wings and legs have all evolved into flippers, helping them make tight turns as they navigate through the waters. These sea serpents have taken to hoarding gold so that they can sun themselves more effectively at lower depths. Although they start off very small, Sunken Dragons show territorial behaviour from a young age, and become increasingly dangerous as they mature. This aggressive behaviour combined with their hoarding instincts to make them a particular threat to ships carrying precious metals.

I had trouble working with "gold" as a theme because I'm not very good at drawing metals convincingly, plus golden dragons and dragons with gold have been done a LOT. Sea serpents are rarely shown with hoards, though, so I figured I'd go with that. I was originally trying to draw a BIG sea serpent (ship-sized or bigger) without doing proper line-art first, but that really tripped me up, so eventually I decided I'd draw a cartoony/cute little dragon with the markings of my second concept pic (the first one was much less colourful).
