This has to be my favorite bird photo, I wasn't able to really catch the brilliant red on his throat, but the detail isn't too bad. It is amazing how delicate these little guys are.Related content

their little toes aren't as big as a hair they seem very breakable but are actually pretty tough.

This is actually the third one I got to sit on my finger, they get in a place they can't get out of(usually the garage) and when they calm down I just hold my finger out and they will land to rest, Then I can carry them to safety and freedom.

They've been getting stuck in my garage a lot lately and I've tried doing that to get them out but never could.

Wow I could start a show eh??? LOL If you move slow and stay calm they are approachable.... or for a nominal fee I will bring my camera crew and remove them from your garage myself, we will air the show on the Fox network and hopefully retire within a year.

The red on his throat remind me of scallop shells.
