Last new piece before Anime Boston.
Honestly... not my fav piece, but it's done and a learned a few new techniques to use on other stuff.
and the BG is not a photo. i made it with Manga Studios' awesome perspective rulers and lots of Blur fliters.

There's an amazing amount of emotion being conveyed in her expression & the lighting is incredible. The only thing that looks a little weird is the finger closest to the viewer. It looks maybe a little too thick, which is making it look a little like it's bending awkwardly, as though it was able to pivot on her hand. (If that any sense...?)

I love the whole drawing, but there is one thing that really struck me, and I have no idea if you did it on purpose. The shadow of the fence on her right cheek makes it look like she's crying, and to me that adds so much more to what the title sad. Silent, quiet, invisible desperation. Beautiful coloring and line art.
I can agree about the finger closest to the viewer, it is wonky, but i saw you reply to someone saying you drew it something like 6 times. Can't blame ya, hands are hard, even when not in perspective and wrapped around oddly shaped objects.

i love the colors and the shadows and how they contribute to the mood. the way you blur things, how you add more blur and keep others better in focus really helps with the composition and the way the eye moves across the piece. i can't ask for anything more on this picture, its too perfect. D:

First I thought that her thumb on her right hand didn't look right since it wasn't really touching the fence, but heck, I can lean against a fence with my hands without using my thumb too so it's all good in your pic!
