Funny you mention the bridge window because despite being on the more conservative side of Trek, I've adopted that idea en masse myself. You wouldn't believe me of course if I told you where the idea actually came from, but its a good idea.
I mean, if you go by the old camera system that used to be used, then when the power goes down the viewscreen goes out, and suddenly, you can't see for shite. But if you have an actual window (made of several compressed feet of transparent aluminum) then your helmsman (or woman) can still move the ship around provided you have the ability to do so. Or at the very least you can see what's out in front of you. Plus when you're flying in atmosphere (like the Walker class can do) ye olde Mk 1 Human Eyeball is more reliable then any sensor or camera feed.

I agree completely with that though the whole angular nacelle thing could have worked on only a few as an armoring test and the TMP refits of the ships have armored nacelles so that aspect of it could have worked.

I love the Europa I've been tempted to model a TMP version of the Europa myself.
