By popular request on my polls, here's a walkthrough of the Jak and Daxter, Forbidden Jungle picture I did a while back.

This is pretty much how I work from start to finish on more detailed images. Ones with less going on have a more basic approach to them. :3

Media Used (in order):
* Eno Colour Graphite leads
* HB Pencil
* Mitsubishi Uni Pin Inking pens
* Faber Castell Inking pen
* Copic Sketch Markers
* Tria Markers
* Pro Markers
* PrismaColor Markers
* Colleen Coloured Pencils
* Faber Castell Dry Watercolours
* Students Gouache
* Polychrome coloured pencils.

yeah it does cost a fair bit. the good thing about living with your parent is you can say, I want this for christmas, buy it NOW XP

I a total scab but i'm gonna be stuffed if i want anything else before next easter

yeah thats a good idea but my mum starts buying christmas presents half way through the year and very rarely she ever asks if theres something special i would like. She has already planned what she's getting me for my birthday next year, (its a painting eseal yes i know because she asked if i wanted one)

i really hope to get some good markers like Keysha-chan has, its just so expensive and my mum would never buy me something that pricey

yep, thats what happens. I've been picking out what i want, and there's no way i can get everything, because i need refills for my old markers, new markers to fill the 'colour gaps' and something to store the collection in.

I could easily go over $500 but mum made me get it down to $200 AUD including postage >_< the horror!

meh. i mean its nice, but when she's like TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT and i'm like I DON'T KNOW, it can get annoying. especially when EVERYONE in your family is like TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT and i'm like GIVE ME MONEY, IT'S EASY and they're like NO!!! it gets annoying -_-;;

but yeah, my mum is a good mum and i'm just happy i have at least one decent parent

Woooow, so much effort... end result looks worth it though
Seriously, if NDI ever decides to re-release the Jak games (i dunno, on the PS3 or something) they should buy this off you and make it the front cover. Or the front cover of the booklet. Or something. Bah, whatever, it's awesome!

Oh so many steps, but so worth it T.T When I am made of money once again, I will invest a crap tone of money into copics. I want traditionally coloured art in my folder again. I'm so over digital for showing others. It's so plastic IRL

This is very impressive. I always make a tonne of mistakes with inks, and get frustrated and then quit. Thanks for posting this.

How long does it take you to do an image from start to finish?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KeyshaKitty In reply to MissBeastie [2009-11-28 02:56:52 +0000 UTC]

I'd set it, roughly, about 4-5 hours if you put all the time I worked on other things and took breaks and slept and such out of the equation. I'm awful at estimating the time I take on things.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MissBeastie In reply to KeyshaKitty [2009-11-28 23:22:35 +0000 UTC]

That is really fast! I'd estimate it would take me 4-5 hours just to do one step. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my art. But eventually I get lazy and skip a few things. Hehe, but goodness, that's cool.

What kind of light box do you have/would you recommend investing in?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KeyshaKitty In reply to AkanaAkazen [2009-11-28 02:59:07 +0000 UTC]

My one was actually home-made for me by a friend and her father - roughly A1 sized with two large, long industrial blubs with a strong wattage. I'm not too sure the materials they used to make it (asides wood XD) - it's something you'd have to research yourself, I'm sorry.

Lol they did make a new one called Jak and Daxter : the lost frontier. Don't know if it's exactly like the other 3 Jaks though

Also you do realize they made a Jak 3 right? Better than the second in my opinion at least...
