I've now made 16 claws using this method.Note, that the rectangular piece of fabric in the beginning is also known as piece W of the pattern.
Also - the Zig-zag will have to be NARROW and VERY close to edge of the fabric, to allow for filling the claws.
It may seem weird at first, but after assembling the paws, these will look just fine.

Approximation: how big is the square to make these? I can`t find the piece W of the patteren and it would be really cool to make your amazing design! Please let me know soon!
