eBay. Do a search for 'Russian GP-5 gasmask'.

did you just glue the air filter on the side of the mask? and did you just make the front part of the mask? b/c they are very different on ebay

Suit, pouch and harness were all made, not bought. If you scroll through the rest of the comments, there should be mentions of how things were made and what they're made of.

thank you, do you have info on the suit though?

protowilson In reply to 22PyRO22 [2014-01-28 02:34:38 +0000 UTC]
It's made of red furniture vinyl. Pattern used was a merging of a clown suit and a jacket, but with the zip on the back instead of the front.

thank you, may you tell me how to make the pouch and harness, that's all I need for my cosplay, I don't want to buy one, I want it to look nice

Pouch was made with black furniture vinyl, and the harness is strip neoprene cut to length and bolted together and through the suit.

Can i ask the components of which your flamethrower is made of? I'm working on the blueprints of one to make it shoot dry ice fog. Absolutly amazed by your costuming skills, great job!

Hi there ALMIGHTY PYRO COSPLAY GOD! XD, I've also been making a flamethrower prop, and so far, it already looks okay. But I've been having problems on finding the right kind of warning stickers for the gas tank. Can you maybe give a link or tips? Oh! and what kind of fabric [if it even is fabric] did you use for your suit 'cuz it looks AMAZING!

protowilson In reply to greenwillow13 [2013-08-26 23:35:25 +0000 UTC]
The stickers were actually home-made, so the images were created digitally and then printed out on adhesive paper.
The suit material is red furniture vinyl. Something like this:Β www.ebay.com.au/itm/Red-marineβ¦

Amazing cosplay, good sir! I could only aspire to create something half as good as that for my Pyro cosplay. T_T

If I was wearing a brown bomber hat and it was a Saturday, then yes it was me. I don't think I saw any other Pyro's while I was there.

Not sure about the hat but I was very impressed with the costume. Looked like you'd stepped right out of 2Fort. Just wanted to commend you on your costume. Wish I got a photo

Hello,
Can i ask you, where you bought (or how you made) flamethrower?
π: 0 β©: 1
protowilson In reply to PyroVicky [2013-07-15 04:02:36 +0000 UTC]
It was made by my partner. He has some notes on his blog about it, but they're not complete, unfortunately.

One of the best Pyro cosplays I've seen to date. How'd you manage those scorch marks, by the way? My friend used spray plasti dip, but it was too shiny.

protowilson In reply to masquedenuit [2013-06-26 10:41:30 +0000 UTC]
Black spray paint which was then coated with charcoal dust.

Love it! By any chance, do you still have the sewing patterns that you used to make the suit?

protowilson In reply to Sparkbots [2013-06-20 03:44:15 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I still have them.

Sparkbots In reply to protowilson [2013-06-20 17:20:26 +0000 UTC]
Any possibility of you ever posting them? I'm trying to make a pyro suit of my own, but don't know the first thing about making a pattern for something like that.
π: 0 β©: 1
protowilson In reply to Sparkbots [2013-06-21 04:17:30 +0000 UTC]
The pattern is actually a combination of two store-bought patterns rather than one I made from scratch. The bottom half is a clown suit pattern and the top half based on a unisex jacket pattern, and I moved the zip to the back instead of the front.

Sparkbots In reply to protowilson [2013-06-22 08:02:54 +0000 UTC]
Thanks a bunch! Maybe if I'm lucky my suit will manage to look half as good as yours

Hey, I don't know if you're still answering questions on this awesome cosplay, but how did you go about the gas mask? Did you modify the typical soviet one everyone uses? Any details would be awesome!
π: 0 β©: 1
protowilson In reply to SergeantHatred [2013-06-09 22:31:11 +0000 UTC]
It is the Russian G5 gasmask that a lot of people use. I tinted the lenses with car window tint. The side filter was a plastic container I found in my bathroom cupboard that proved the right size, and it's bolted through the rubber of the mask. It's been a while but I think the front filter, which fits over the gasmask's actual filter attachment point, was the bottom of a plastic drinking bottle that had the slats cut from it using a dremel.

You literally perfected the pose, oh my goodness this is so impressive.
Outstanding job on the gun too.

May I ask, from what material is the body suit made of? Looks like ironed rubber or the material they use in raining gear. Just curious as I'm going to cosplay Pyro this summer as well and I'll most likely buy a rubberish nuclear protection suit for it, but.. The you are using looks a bit better.
