This is my first ever digital painting. As in an honest-to-goodness painting with no lines and all digital art. So, considering it's my first, I'm pretty happy with it
The picture itself is pretty simple (and I cheated with her closed eyes, ha ha) but I think I got the technique down okay.I did this entirely with my tablet and openCanvas, with a bit of paintshop to tweak the colors. I must have spent at least 2 hours on the skin alone, probably more. I don't know, I didn't time it. For the whole piece, I'd guess about... 4 and a half hours? The hair took me a while as well... >_> But I'm still happy with it! In fact, it's my desktop background right now.
Alright, now it's time to list all the flaws I know of... I know her neck is too small, her eyes are too far apart (and the lashes look funny), and all that stuff. I also know that the colors aren't the best, but that's because I did it on a laptop and you know how the color is on those things. This is critique discouraged since I spent such a long time on it...
Advice on this style of painting is very much appreciated though! So, I hope you read this, and even if you didn't... enjoy!
PS: Many thanks go to *augustc4 and *tubenose for their amazing tutorials! They probably won't see this but whatever.
Edit// Okay, I just resubmitted a version of this very same picture... just with some more color. Hopefully it'll look better! It's all the same details, just a bit of color change.

i dont know why you listed the flaws. i think those so called "flaws" give this piece style. it adds to it. i like everything about this piece! its cute & i like the pink-tinted colors. for your first digital painting, its quite good! :]

Ohhh! Another opencanvas painter! I paint alot in opencanvas too, it's my favorite program, possibly.. ever. I love the painting, it's so sweet, and the colors are very soft. Every nonexist line just looks so perfectly placed.. Like you can't see the lines, but they're there. I'm making no sense, sorry.
The haircolor! Painting oddly colored hair is so fun, isn't it? I love the skintones.. it's amazing how you got that airbrushed effect in her cheeks! [wait, do you use Opencanvas 1.1?] I really love the yellow you used to shadow in around her face. really marvelous! Fav? Yes!

Yep, it is. I actually intended it to be brown, but somehow it turned out orange. >w< I kind of like it, though. I use openCanvas 4, so they have an airbrush effect in it

They're really easy to use but hard to get used to if that makes sense... b/c of the pressure sensitivity so you have to be really gentle with it
