Description
Various notes, collected and done over a few days, from different scraps of paper put into one sheet.Basically, observations of constructions guidelines, trying to work out how these characters work. These are my observations, and should NOT be taken as official notes for these characters.
Plus, a few extra notes for people watching this, to think about volumes, proportions, perspective when drawing. I didn't clean these sketches much, wanting to show most of the rough lines underneath to show structure.
Plus a little doodle added in the bottom left corner. How I would love to tell Iroh's story (if I knew what it was).
Col erase (blue and Tuscan red), plus HB pencils.
Except for Thutmoses up there on the right (mine!), all the other characters belong to Mike, Brian, Nickelodeon, Viacom. If I forgot someone, let me know and I'll add you up.

Glad that could help. When you do character design, for you or other, you basically create a formula that everyone follows.
Though, there's nothing to say that the character won't evolve over time either. Best to flow with it.

Heehee. But it was interesting for me to compare two bald headed kids, and what little things made them different (eyes, mouth, nose, head shapes)

Glad it can help. It's just a small guide, and may help people think as to what to look for if they want to try and to characters on models. Though, with fanart, the joy sometimes is to step away from the look of the character.

Very true. But it is still nice to know the official proportions. Taking a step away from a style often requires knowing where you're stepping from to begin with.

To nitpick sort of means paing way to more attention to small details, instead of looking at the big picture. Say you had made a great drawing of a lady, and I would go and complain about her nails being too long.

*laughs* Is it just me, or is that middle picture of Aang standing and making some sorta hand-gesture absolutely HILARIOUS?! *giggles* He looks like he's about to say something clueless...involving...I dunno...GIRLS or something.
And *pssst* no offense, but Ozai has kind of a womanly figure. ...And hair. ...Though, he DOES probably use some really FANCY royal-quality shampoo. ...And is tended to by only the BEST hair-dressers in all the Fire-Nation.
And I REALLY like the way you're drawing Toph now. ...You make it seem as though she CAN see.
And finally (because who DOESN'T like talking about Sokka?), I must have it stated that I would MAIM for a lunch-box with Sokka's face on it. That would be AWESOME. *laughs* And delicious.
P.S.--A FULL version of the picture of Iroh would be REALLY nice. (HINT HINT!! *winks so hard...there's no way you can't understand what I mean*)

Well, Ozai's figure are kinda hidden by these big robes. And yes, he most certainlyhas the best shampoo and hairdresses in all the fire nation! You should have seen the hair commercials he did !
Maybe one day I'll redo that Iroh pic...and make Ozai more manly with nice, long, flowy hair
