Description
As a historian I often come across controversial figures. Often these are figures that have achieved glory in the eyes of some of their descendants, but in the eyes of others they are the devil incarnate.Possibly one the most recognisable images of the 20th century, Ernesto Guevara de la Serna, AKA, Che Guevara inspired a generation. Whilst many have criticised his communist aims and his method of armed revolution, his deep-felt desire to help his fellow man regardless of their nationality or ethnicity has turned him into a secular saint.
Whilst this photo should require no introduction, it is suffice to say that this is a copy of Alberto Korda's infamous photo, taken at the funeral for the victims of the La Coubre explosion, March 5, 1960

Heros Never die
But heros are only a concept no one is black or white the world is alwalys changing, Hitler could have was a hero to some but tryant to others. For me Che is a revoltionary and i see him as a person who did the correct thing, since " there are no such things are liberotors, people liberate themselves."
History is neither black or white, dont forget that follow your own path.

I love to look at your work...it's really different to all the other stuff on deviantart.
BUt I think you should be a lil more critical in this case.
It' right that icons never die but they can be abused.
Whats left of che guevara?
For most of the people he's nothing more than a pop-art-t-shirt logo :-/
capitalism is so superior to communism that it wouldn't even be afraid to use communistic icons for it's own commerce :-/
che guevara is a proof for that.
I hope you get what i mean...my english sucks at a late hour

I think i understand you entirely. Che guevara's Image has been used and abused pretty much from the moment that shutter clicked. I remember recently seeing underwear bearing his image.....
However , luckily for guevara , he has become somthing so much more than an image. He is an ideal , a household name , an instantly recognisable figure. Even though the marketing men may bastardise his image for thier own purposes , his legacy is secure in the minds of those to whom it really matters , the beaten and degected of this world who see him as an ispiration. Not a bottle of Vodka
As for Communism....It works well with Ants......

Very true. I think you should go even more contemporary. Try finding something from the past few years and see what you can do......

Whilst this is true some are already taking shape as abnormally controversial. Take Dubya for example......
