I've been working on this - literally - for a couple of months, trying to make the most detailed dragon I possibly could for my friend ~eV13il . I hope once she sees it she'll remember our conversation... (though if she doesn't I won't mind.)despite the random trouble I had several times, I'm quite pleased with how this turned out... but I'm never going to put quite so much effort into one picture again until I figure out a way to do so in less time.
(I really wish I could manage some less abstract looking backgrounds...)
turns out I can't actually draw nice water, so I used a wallpaper image from [link] to add in the water.
also used the awesome eyes tutorial =sanguisGelidus created to make the dragon's eye look the way it does.

~copyright to the water... well the photographer is unknown to me, but I believe copyrights to water in general belong to God. (I believe he did create it after all.)
~if there are any other copyrights here I'm not aware of them.

simple may be good, but I still want to get better at the backgrounds - wasn't that long ago that I didn't even try for backgrounds after all.

I still appreciate you making him for me. I saved the picture as one of the background for my computer {I do a slideshow because I can never make up my mind} and I smile everytime I see him come up

he doesn't make a very good background for my computer, the 16 by 9 screen makes it so he doesn't fit.

I still can't manage more than three toes on the hind legs most of the time, but practice makes perfect.
(I've always been close to the reptilian critters, it was actually cats I couldn't draw for the longest time.)
