Special Effects Tutorial!: [link]
LineArt & SAI Tutorial: [link]

UPDATE 7/17/09: I added a shortcut to the "Alternate Method" for Preparing the Lineart (And elaborated on that a little bit) to the Table of Contents (The place where all the Red Buttons are in the beginning) This would most likely be targeted to people using Photoshop Elements, OpenCanvas---any Program that does not have the ability to split Channels.

I also added a section to change things back to RGB after the Lineart Preparation. This page is BEFORE the Flats, after the "Alternate Method". Thank you readers for reminding me to put it in

If this tutorial is helpful, please tell other people about it!

I finally finished it! The file is around 7 megabytes, but I hope it'll be worth the download! I kind of aimed it toward Beginners, but there's a lot of more "complicated" stuff in there too.

Use the LEFT and RIGHT keys on your keyboard to flip through the pages, and then use the UP key to return to the table of Contents.

IF THE KEYS DON'T WORK then just click on the image first and THEN use the keys.

Enjoy!!

I really like this tutorial but I can't seem to download it to my computer so I can put it on a different computer that has no internet, it would really help with the coloring of my anime characters that I made...}

Oh Make sure you have macromedia flash installed on your other computer... then just hit download. When you get to the download part, on your browser, hit File > Save As

If that doesn't work, just note me your email and I can send it to you

How important is pressure control?(stupid question, I know since it says that it's very important in the tutorial) I ask because I'm looking at the bamboo tablets on amazon and the Bamboo Pen Tablet ([link] ) doesn't specifically says it has it but people in the reviews talk like it does. The next one up from it, the Bamboo Pen and Touch ([link] ), specifically lists that it does have pressure control. I don't want to waste my money and buy the wrong thing only to find out I should have bought the other thing and then I'm like "crap now I have to wait about a year so I at least feel like I got my money's worth out of this thing".(I have a long standing history of doing that ) I just want what's cheapest and I don't want to have to mess with a tablet that also functions as a touch pad for the mouse. (I don't want to have to worry about my hand dragging across the surface and making the pointer on screen freak out.)

I've used tablets with 512 levels of pressure sensitivity, and ones with 1024 levels. Honestly, there's no noticeable difference. At least not to me.

Though what helps me have more control over the pressure (and get nice lines that goes between low and high pressure more smoothly) is adjusting the 'tip feel' as it's called. Once you have your tablet installed, go control panel > bamboo > pen tab > tip feel. I like it one notch towards firm, but everyone is different.

The first bamboo tablet that you linked me to does Just do a find on your browser for "pressure sensitivity"

The first link you sent me said: The pen features 512 levels of pressure sensitivity The second one has 1024!

I think a way you can think about it is... mm...

512 levels will be like trying to use a permanent marker... I would say 1024 would be using a pen

Srry for botherin again, but I got another question about tablets >.<...
Is the Inuos4 (small) big enough for the types of drawings you do (or at least an average picture of a cartoon/manga person), and is the medium worth the extra $150 dollars (In my case a wait of 3 months)?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

suzuran In reply to ToraxXDora [2011-09-11 23:14:46 +0000 UTC]

here's what you can do

Look up the size of the actual tablet drawing area, then cut a piece of paper out and try to draw on it, to see if you're comfortable with it

That's the most important part, to see if you're comfortable

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

ToraxXDora In reply to suzuran [2011-09-12 01:34:08 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for the advice XD
I tried cutting out some paper and the medium was more comfortable but I could draw almost the same on the smaller piece...
Also my main concern is how it will turn up on the screen if I use a small :\
Also if the extra 2 buttons and tiny LED labels are worth it
So many different factors..-.-'
Just wanna make sure I don't regret what I choose to buy :]
