So it took me all day to do, but here it is at last. A full tutorial from paper to deviantart, how I draw, scan, edit, color AND shade. If you want to see a live version of how to do this, please see the video tutorial: [link]SORRY FOR THE BLOODY HUGE FILE! YOU'LL HAVE TO DOWNLOAD IT, TO MAKE IT A REASONABLE SIZE! I'm really sorry about that. . . to resize it, I'd have to change all 48 slides, and then it's hard to read the photoshop text.

Awesome Tutorial, I've learnt alot about how pencil drawings are still important rather than trying to draw directly onto tablet. Also, the way you shade seems much more easier than I could have imagined, using blue wouldn't have been a guess of a color so now i'm eager to try when I get home.

Thanks so much! Yeah, I tend to do my lineart either of the two ways, pencil or straight up tablet, and they yield completely different effects. I get a smooth deadline with mechanical pencil which is great for an animation standpoint, but get the nice lineweight with programs like Open Canvas.

This really blew my mind. I'm so amazed at the progress of how your art work became so incredible. After seeing this tutorial, it's like I would have imagined the process to be. When I studied your drawings, I only got an idea of how it might have been done, but I wasn't able to put my finger on it. It came a bit close to what I had in mind, but I was very blown away with every progrssive detail.
It's allot of work, but man, is it incredible. I was staring at each page with my mouth hung open, literally! I'm really impressed. Thanks for sharing this. This is very valueable and I will learn to do allot better in my art work. Thanks again. I love the end pic with the faves cup filled and the empty comments on the other. XD
That's so true. In my case, my cup of faves would be a pint of star, and an empty cup of comments in the other. But , when I get all my equipments together, that'll all change..........I hope. .........

My word! this is excatily what i am looking for! been reading a lot of books to figer otu the best way to shade things on photoshop and they all got me confuse @.@ But yours is much easyer to understand
