Description
How to Change/Add Exif Data to your images.Exiftool is a very advanced exif editing and viewing tool using command lines. I have attempted to create a very simple photo/image exif editing tutorial using the Command Module (PC) and Terminal (Mac).

Couldn't you just really look at camera data by the right of the deviation if you want to know what camera the photo is taken with?

YEs. but some programs remove exif data when saving. Also, people who shoot film like to be able to do this too.

These instructions do NOT make any sense.
I dl's this application.
Open terminal.
typed: exiftool file-you-want-to-see
response: File not found: file-you-want-to-see
johns-books-macbook-pro:~ johnsbook$ /Users/johnsbook/Desktop/untitled\ folder/DPY/DPY_Matrimony_72dpi.jpg
-bash: /Users/johnsbook/Desktop/untitled folder/DPY/DPY_Matrimony_72dpi.jpg: Permission denied
I do NOT want to change anything.
Can you please rite the EXACT steps to do to get whatever it is you want for my images. I use Mac.
Thanks!

It will help if you read the entirety of the directions before attempting. Looking as the examples provided should help.

the 'file-you-want-to-see' is the name/location of the file you want to access. you replace 'file-you-want-to-see' with the image file location.
Those are exact directions.
You will be changing your exif data. This will not affect the image itself.

Thank you so much for posting this. I have been looking for some time for a program such as this in order to add exif data to the HDR's I make from single images after they lose the data. This is a major help.

No problem
I know how frustrating it can be when a program throws out such vital info.
