(Height: average species height/individual height)
Redeemable “Dee”, Floatzel
Sex: Female
Type: Water
Ability: Swift Swim
Nature: Impish
Attacks: Waterfall, Attract, Ice Fang, Aqua Jet > Brick Break (before first round)
Team Ranking: 1, the last resort
Pokéball: Poké Ball
Personality: Dee has a cheerful but wild disposition. It’s easy to get her laughing and it’s rare to see her without a smile or a happy glint in her eyes. Her general intelligence is lacking, but she has a keen battling sense and a thirst for a good, hard fight. In fact, in battle she’s pretty much a psycho and the laugh that might have been cute and endearing (or something) turns into a high-pitched war cry when she’s fighting. Since she grew up as a lone predator, she isn’t well-socialized and often comes off as rude and insulting, and despite her interest in human things, has very little understanding of their customs, such as not taking other people’s stuff (and Dill usually gets in trouble for it). Being so unsocialized leaves her in the dark to a lot of jokes. Since she can’t tell what’s ‘normal’ for humans, she also can’t tell what’s odd, so if a human is acting weird or doing something suspicious (picking a lock for example), even if her trainer and the other Pokémon pick up on it, Dee probably won’t. She can identify a threatening stance or expression, and can pick up on dangerous intents, however.
She’s addicted to wine, but doesn’t often get to act upon her addiction since wine isn’t easy for her and her underage, goody-good trainer to come by. However, since she doesn’t often actually drink wine, she’s a light weight and is drunk out of her mind within a few sips.
Dee doesn’t know what flirting is, but she does it a lot. She loves boys, boys, boys, boys, boys of many Pokémon species (typically mammalian, however). She’s also extremely affectionate and loves to express her fuzzy feelings with glomps and nuzzles. Her favorite victims are Momo (not in PCBC, only mentioned) and Dill, and she has a special nuzzle reserved just for Kinoko.
She hates having to be separated from Momo (Dill lent Momo to her legally blind brother Michael when he left on his Pokemon journey). She was depressed for a month after he left with Michael, and can still lose the happiest of moods when she remembers that Momo’s not around to join in on her happiness. She gets overly-animated when Dill gets a call, hoping it’s from Mikey.
History: Dee was the second Pokémon that Dill caught on her journey. Dee lived on the Eterna City side of Route 205. She was particularly strong for her area and liked to pick on young human trainers. When Dill and Olive were making her merry way to Eterna, Dee attacked Momo. The ensuing battle ended in Momo’s victory and Dee from then on was Dill’s.
Dee didn’t get along well with anyone at first and she kept making threats to eat her Kinoko and Momo, who were at that time her only teammates. Dee tamed gradually over time, her survivalistic desires for food and shelter easily satisfied by the trainer's Pokemon lifestyle and her aggressive impulses better settled through battling. She stopped wanting to eat Kinoko and Momo, and with the whole “predator-prey” thing aside, the three ended up becoming good friends with each other and Dill. She even started to grow an interest in human things and stole a bikini top from a store. Dill ended up returning that one, but bought her another one after Dee won Dill the Relic Badge. Dee evolved into a Floatzel while wearing that top, and now it cannot be removed without being cut off since the floatation sac grew over it.
During the time spent at the Pastoria Gym while Dill was training under Crasher Wake and while at Dill’s home in Ecruteak, Dee’s fascination with human things grew exponentially.
Special: Instead of orange, she is a light brownish color and the black marks on her face are very short, practically half circles. Her belly fur and light markings are white instead of yellow. She wears heart-patterned boxer shorts and evolved with a bikini top on.
Height: 3’7.3”/3’9”
Held Item: Razor Fang (worn in her mouth, replacing her lower right canine.)
Battle Stats: Dee is quick, agile, has excellent endurance and a battle-hungry spirit. Fighting is a gleeful event for her, and she often laughs through entire battles. Like a predator, Dee tries to catch her opponent off guard or attack them from behind. While she appears to treat battles like games (especially when she’s acrobatically dodging attacks and laughing like a maniac), she takes losses seriously. Hard, grueling fights make her crazy with happiness, but losing can throw her into a serious mood that usually lasts a few hours.
Dill tries to give Dee's moveset more variety and often replaces Aqua Jet with whatever attack she’s experimenting with. This ticks Dee off, since when she and Momo do double battles together, they like to open with their Aqua Jet-Mach Punch combo, and because Aqua Jet is a good, quick attack that works with her strategy. Dill figures Dee’s quick with or without Aqua Jet, so she shouldn’t really complain.
Her favorite attack is Ice Fang, however. She always aims for the neck with Ice Fang.
She has taken out up to three Pokémon of the same approximate level in a row on several occasions (given that they are of neutral or disadvantageous elements)
She’ll never be sent out first. She’s only sent out to battle if Dill’s in a tight spot or is unsure of victory, or if Dee really wants to battle a specific opponent and Dill’s confident that Dee can handle them (Dee loves fighting electric types, but with a team full of Ground types, Dill would rather use someone other than Dee, sadly).
Some of her combos/maneuvers:
. Aqua Bomb: Dee uses Waterfall to launch herself into the air and then uses Aqua Jet to dive bomb onto the opponent. Very risky and fairly inaccurate. Since Dee ‘forgot’ Aqua Jet again, she’ll likely be unable to use it for the tournament; something else for her to gripe about.
. Quick Fang: Dee uses Aqua Jet to reach her opponent and then dishes out an Ice Fang. As with Aqua Bomb, without Aqua Jet it’s a hard combo to pull off.
Notes:
. Since she was wearing the swim top when she evolved, it cannot be removed without being cut off. Her boxers can be removed though, and she doesn't usually wear them to battle.
. She is almost always out of her pokéball
. She hates Guitar Hero because it requires fingers to play
. She’s a one-Floatzel party. If she’s got the right music, she’ll break into awkward dance moves wherever she is (unless it’s a battle)
. Dill gave Dee her own mp3 player so that she would stop taking her phone to listen to music. Dee knows how to turn the player on and start the music, but not how to change songs, so she’s always listening to the same songs over and over. She doesn’t mind, so she hasn’t bothered to get Dill to teach her how to change songs.
. Dill doesn't really have a reason she named Dee Redeemable. She calls Dee "Dee" instead of Redeemable because "Redeemable" is a mouthful and doesn't fit Dee very well.
RELATIONSHIPS
Dill: One of Dee's best friends. They usually get along well, tease each other mercilessly and bro fist, chest bump, hug and do many of gestures of supreme friendship, but Dee's rollercoastering mood as of late on top of her constant ignorance of the law tend to get on Dill's nerves.
Kinoko: One of Dee's best friends. The least lively of the three, Kinoko usually just listens to Dee's jokes, rants, and other stuff and offers girly man advice.
Momo (not participating): One of Dee's best friends. This Infernape grew out of a phase of recklessness and disconcern for others and became responsible and trustworthy. He watches over Dee, keeps her out of trouble, and if anyone will ever drill a set of morals into Dee's head, it'll be Momo. They have a very similar sense of humor and Momo is still a bit of a practical joker.
Dee is extremely fond of Momo, and the fact that Momo's not around is not only the reason Dee is often depressed lately, but also why her lawless antics seem to be on the rise.
Wrangler: There is only one being in the universe that Dee hates and that is Wrangler. She usually ignores him, but if he's fighting, she'll criticize his battling style, insult his mom, and taunt him in any way she can.
Mossimo: Dee's determined that he's a dork.
Moniker: Like Dill, Dee thinks Moni is just sooooooooo cute and babies him.
Grif: Dee and Grif have shared many a day sliding in the mud together. Although talking to Grif seems pointless, Dee finds him amusing all the same.
Zinc: Dee will usually take Zinc up on her spontaneous offers to fight. That's the extent of their relationship.
--
Haydn : Dill's best human friend's Lucario. Dee and Haydn are both flirts get along very well. They play-flirt, but neither is interested in pursuing a relationship or anything with the other.
