XXXVII
Our First War

I was awakening by extremely loud knocking at my door…and a voice as well…
“Diddy!” Ania yelled, “Are you awake?!” I shook my head. “Last warning! I’m coming in!” She barged through the door as I sat on the side of my bed.
“Ania?” I questioned as I was getting dressed.
“I’m sorry to wake you up Diddy!” she yelled. She was dressed in her clothes that she wore in the beginning…the Egyptian clothes. “But they’re saying the troops have already found us! Vexus’ soldiers are heading this way right now!” I gasped.
“WHAT?!” I yelled, “You’ve got to be kidding! They’ve found us already?!” Ania nodded.
“Everybody else is gathered downstairs. We have to go!” I nodded as I looked to my golden outfit I wore all the time. I put it on along with the Dawn Sword tied to my back as Ania joined my party. We ran downstairs as quickly as possible and saw that Lord Bandai, Timothy, Jennette, Kanda, Toxica, Roy, Emerald, and Maren were waiting for us. Lord Bandai bowed at me.
“Ah Diddy!” he yelled, “It’s simply dreadful that I had to awaken you with such unpleasant news.” He then grew serious. “Those nefarious Vexus troops have crossed the revolving bridge and they’re advancing our way as we speak. Er…there appear to be three hundred or so of them.” Kanda grew angry.
“Damn!” he yelled, “Why so many?!” Maren shrugged.
“Because I think they’ll try what they must to get Roy and the others,” she answered. Roy nodded.
“Again,” he spoke, “They appear to know who and what they’ll find.” Winston nodded in agreement.
“They sent a messenger this morning to inform us of the so-called reason for this advance,” he explained, “Apparently, they seek to capture ‘the felon Roy’ and ‘take custody of Diddy and Ladies Ania and Toxica’.” He then suddenly frowned. “The messenger also said that his orders came from Princess Dixie. They expect my understanding and full cooperation.” Emerald threw one baton on the floor.
“Backstabbers!” he yelled, “And those dudes got the guts to call someone else a felon!” Timothy nodded in agreement.
“Quite right!” he added, “And they dare employ the sacred name of one of the princesses in such foul schemes!” Winston shook his head.
“And calling a three hundred-soldier invasion a ‘request’ for cooperation,” he said, “Even insolence should have limits! Don’t worry though! The Bandai Family shall NEVER capitulate to the threats of liars and blackguards!” Maren grew angry.
“I can’t believe this…,” she said. Kanda nodded.
“They dare to threaten us with force?” he questioned, “Let them come! Like men, we’ll settle this on the battlefield!” Timothy turned to Winston.
“You’ll show those scallywags won’t you Father?!” he yelled cheerfully. Winston nodded.
“But…,” he said, “There’s just one thing…the tiniest of favors that I’d like to ask of you…Diddy Kong.” I looked at him weird.
“Me?” I asked him, “I um…sure what is it?” Winston smiled.
“Would you mind leading our forces into battle?” he asked quickly.
“WHAT?!” we all yelled. Me? Leading forces against my own girlfriend?!
“EXCUSE ME?!” Toxica yelled. Even Jennette was surprised.
“Father?!” she yelled. Winston held his hands up.
“Don’t misunderstand me!” he yelled, “It’s not as if I’m asking you to fight on the front lines or any such thing. But…don’t we want the people to see what foul liars Vexus and his soldiers are? That we are the true liberators who will crush the rebels and restore order and peace to the Land of the Sun? Surely, the people will know the truth when they see the ‘kidnapped’ Diddy Kong take arms against his false rescuers.” He then smiled. “Think of the boost to our soldiers’ morale as well, to fight alongside one as great and noble as Diddy Kong!” He then turned to me. “Come now Diddy. I believe you’ll find my reasoning is quite irrefutable.” I began to sweat at this. Even though I saved Soleanna before with about ten people in my party in my last adventure…how in the hell could I lead about five hundred soldiers into battle?!
“Why am I not surprised that Winston’s plan involves someone else doing the fighting?” Ania asked. Roy shook his head.
“I understand,” he said, “But…he’s still got a point. And I don’t think we’re going to get a better offer anytime soon.” Maren gasped.
“But Roy!” she yelled, “That’s suicide! What if we don’t make it?! What if we don’t win?!” Roy turned to her.
“I may be new to the land,” he said, “But I know in my heart that Diddy will win this campaign…” He held her hand. “You have to trust me. I know Diddy well…and he’s clever and smart. He’ll beat them with power and wits.” She then smiled as Winston looked at me.
“So…Diddy Kong,” he said, “What do you say about this?” I began to sweat even more about this. I wanted to live…but then I thought about something else. If I die…what will happen to Dixie? What will happen to Rosa? What will happen to…everybody in the Land of the Sun? I shook my head as I grabbed the hilt of my sword.
“It’s the best plan!” I yelled. Winston laughed in happiness.
“Just what one would expect of the hero of Soleanna long ago!” he yelled, “I’m sure His Majesty Charles Diaz would be bursting with pride right now!” Ania turned to me.
“Diddy…,” she spoke. Kanda smiled while grabbing his katana.
“Diddy Kong!” he screamed, “I’ll be your deputy commander!” Everyone looked at Kanda. “Don’t you worry! I won’t let so much as a mosquito touch you!” He may be 14 years old…but he was badass! I smiled at him.
“Thank you Kanda,” I spoke. Winston joined the laugh.
“That’s Lord Wilde for you!” he yelled, “So wonderfully reliable!” He then turned to me. “Diddy Kong, I’ll have five hundred soldiers prepared for battle…but the question is…are you prepared to GO into battle right away?” I smiled.
“You know I am Winston,” I answered. Winston smiled.
“May victory be ours Diddy Kong!” Winston screamed. Ania looked at me nervously as I showed no sign of fear or weakness. Three hundred soldiers were going to die today…but they weren’t going to be any of my soldiers. Kanda cheered.
“Let’s go get em!” he screamed. Everyone in the room cheered me on, chanting my name over and over. It was time for war…

Three hours later…

After three hours of work, we managed to gather soldiers from all over Rainwall and from under Lord Wilde and Lord Bandai’s guidance. Total from those people, we gathered about five hundred soldiers to fight in the campaign with us!
Winston began to explain to me how the war would work in times like this. There would always be three people to each unit, the first person chosen to be leader of that entire unit. Since there were five hundred soldiers, I would be controlling a hundred soldiers, plus the other two loyal people that I choose. In my unit, I picked Ania and Toxica, so these two would be fighting beside me in this campaign. Roy was leading the second unit, with Emerald and Maren in his party. In the third unit, Kanda would be leader, with Zack and Timothy in his party. In the fourth unit, Jennette lead, including her seven year old sisters Palina and Melany. I was wondering why Lord Bandai sent his youngest out on the battlefield, but we’ll get to that later, because their battle with Vexus’ soldiers was going to end…REALLY fast. In the fifth unit, a commander led it with two other commanders. We were all set for the war.
Before we left for battle, Winston walked up to me.
“We expect you to return unharmed Diddy Kong,” he said, “So may God have mercy upon your soul.” I nodded as I rode on my horse along with Ania and Toxica. I rode my horse in front of me a little away from the entire army and turned to them with a face of battle.
“LET OUR MERCY AS DEEP AS THE FEITAS AND OUR AUTHORITY AS POWERFUL AS THE SUN BE REVEALED TO THE ENTIRE WORLD!” I screamed. Everyone repeated my words as a battle cry, and then I turned around to the huge fields. “LET’S RIDE!” Instantly, everyone rode with me down the line. It was time for my first war to start…

Battlefield…

Suddenly, we could see soldiers from afar moving into our location. I turned to my soldiers.
“HERE WE GO!” I screamed, “MY UNIT WILL GO FORWARD! ROY, YOU GO NORTHEAST OF ME! KANDA, YOU GO NORTHWEST OF ME! JENNETTE, YOU AND THE LAST UNIT RIDE BEHIND US!” I turned back to the fields. “LET OUR MERCY AS DEEP AS THE FEITAS AND OUR AUTHORITY AS POWERFUL AS THE SUN BE REVEALED TO THE ENTIRE WORLD!” Everyone repeated the lines that went on for generations…and then the FIRST CAMPAIGN commenced…

First Unit Battle

Ania, Toxica and I charged forward with bursting speed towards the first 50 soldiers that stood before us. An easy battle I will say, but that was going to change after we clashed straight into them. I got off my horse into the middle of three soldiers and slammed my sword onto them, cutting them in half. Five more soldiers crashed into me as three of Bandai’s soldiers aided me in battle. Instantly, our group took them out as ten more soldiers appeared. Ania appeared right in front of me with a spin to five of their throats. Toxica saw about three more of them coming for us and shot arrows at them. Thirty of our archers followed her command as they grabbed arrows and began firing them. Toxica was laughing in evil, which I liked.
“DIE VEXUS SOLDIERS!” she screamed, “DIE! FIRE AWAY ARCHERS!” The archers continued firing their arrows at the three of the Vexus soldiers coming in, plus an additional fifteen. Their numbers were going down extremely fast! Ania didn’t hesitate to charge forward and kill the other five soldiers that aided the other five that she killed in only three seconds. Bandai’s soldiers charged forward and cut three of their throats opened while five of ours went down to the ground. They were dead…so we had five casualties. After their deaths, I raised my Rune into the air.
“FIRE RUNE!” I screamed, “DANCING FLAMES!” Instantly, little fireballs spun around my head at high speed and flew into the air. Right when the Vexus soldiers had blades to me, the fireballs landed straight on the fourteen soldiers’ heads…and we sat back to watch the show. A huge pillar of flame could be seen that came from only little fireballs. Suddenly, three pillars were pulling apart from each other and spinning around the soldiers…but here was the catch…a barrier in the middle of those pillars could be seen as well as LAVA IN THE ATTACK! Instantly, the soldiers were dead as the lava and pillars disappeared. We won our first fight!
“WE DID IT!” I screamed. Ania smiled.
“That went by too quick,” she said.
“Agreed!” Toxica finished. Only five out of a hundred soldiers were dead, so we had ninety five left. I hope the Lord is watching them as we speak. Thank you God for this battle…and our survival. Now I looked at Roy’s group, who proceeded to fight a hundred of their soldiers. This was an even match…so I hope they would turn out ok…

Second Unit Battle
Roy’s point of view

Emerald, Maren and I charged forward and fought against 100 soldiers, an even match. Diddy was finishing up his battle when the three of us got off our horses and charged for the first ten coming at us. I swung my sword and killed the first five as Maren stood behind me spinning her staff. Every soldier trying to attack us was bounced back because Maren’s Pixie Rune produced a barrier that protected us. Emerald could be seen in the front of the line, spinning his batons as the blood of Vexus Soldiers was flying. When our barrier was gone, Emerald finished off three soldiers as ten more charged into him. Even though Emerald was an idiot to me, I wasn’t going to let him die, so I charged forward and stabbed straight into the ten that attacked him as Maren made the other five disappear with her Pixie Rune. Ten of the soldiers were dangling on my blade as Emerald sighed.
“Thanks bud,” he said. I shook my head.
“NO TIME FOR SAYING THANKS EMERALD!” I screamed, “WE’VE GOT A WAR TO SETTLE!” Instantly, I swung my blade, making the ten bodies fly off of it and landing on the two soldiers that tried to take Maren out. They weren’t dead, until she stabbed straight through their heads with her staff. 75 soldiers remained after that. I saw Bandai’s soldiers (about twenty of them) charging into the twenty oncoming soldiers. I smiled at Bandai who helped us, but I was suspecting tricks up his sleeve. I shook my head and continued fighting the soldiers that took us on. Ten of them collided into me as I grew into berserk. I raised my hand into the air. “EARTH RUNE!” I screamed, “EARTHQUAKE!” Suddenly, a symbol appeared under twenty of the soldiers that were behind the ten that I was supposed to take out…and pillars shot straight through those twenty as the ten striked me repeatedly. Emerald came to my aid and raised his hand into the air.
“BOAR RUNE DUDES!” he screamed. His eyes turned white as he sped straight up to the ten that were hurting me. He relentlessly beat the crap out of them with batons swinging to the left and right at a hundred miles per hour. Instantly, the ten were dead when he performed an uppercut on them. He turned to me and smiled as only 25 soldiers remained. I found that out when I looked to my right. Twenty of the soldiers that Bandai’s Soldiers charged into were dead…but our twenty were dead as well, so we only had 80 soldiers left. I shook my head in anger as I charged forward into the remaining ten in my group as Emerald took on five and Maren took on ten. I swung my sword and instantly cut off the heads of my ten as Emerald spun his batons taking out the five that came at him. Maren raised her hand in the air.
“IXIE RUNE!” she screamed, “STAFF OBLITERATION!” Right when the ten soldiers striked her, she slammed her staff down and instantly teleported them. Our battle was over…we won.
“Too many losers,” I said.
“RIGHT ON DUDES!” Emerald added.
“YAY!” Maren finished. We finished off 100 soldiers with only 20 casualties. I turned to Kanda’s fight. His was going to be…interesting…

Third Unit Battle
Kanda’s Point of view

“LET’S KILL THEM!” Zack screamed as he grabbed his two pistols. I smiled.
“Let’s do this Zack!” I screamed. Timothy even smiled.
“LET THE DIVINE ROSES DESTROY THESE DEMONS!” he screamed. Even I was rooted on by Timothy’s war cry. My soldiers plus my two comrades Zack and Timothy charged into battle against 50 of their soldiers. Even though this battle’s victor was quite clear…we still had to be on guard at all times. We all jumped off our horses as Zack fired his pistols at ten of the soldiers, finishing them instantly. I bet the Vexus Soldiers weren’t expecting that. I turned and parried with three of the soldiers and killed two of them. As three more piled in on me, Timothy came to my aid.
“En guarde!” he screamed as he sliced their throats. He was parrying with one of them as I when I saw Zack in the back parrying with ten of them with his sword. He cut through five of them as only 31 soldiers remained. I cut through my last bit as Bandai’s soldiers came to my aid. All a hundred of them killed only one, so I laughed after Zack jumped back to me. Timothy and Zack turned to me and smiled. A team up was about to begin…but they weren’t necessarily going to do the fight…
“LET’S FINISH THIS!” Zack screamed.
“Likewise my furry friends!” Timothy added.
“RABID FANG RUNE!” I screamed as my eyes turned red, “WEREWOLF TRANSFORMATION!” Instantly, Timothy and Zack disappeared as their souls went inside my body. After ten seconds, a huge red aura appeared around my body. I had the sharpest claws that mankind would have ever seen as I decided to put my sword away. There was no use for it at a time like this. My fangs grew longer as my tail and I went on all four legs. This battle was going to be over after that…
I sped forward at a thousand miles per hour and tore apart three soldiers as they no longer had bones in their bodies. After that, I sprint and took out ten of them, biting through all of their heads as only 17 remained. I sprint forward once again and slashed through ten of them while their bodies exploded. Seven remained…and I jumped into the air. I howled…and landed straight on top of the seven. The attack I performed on the last group was so gory and bloody that not even the Bandai Soldiers wanted to witness it. That was it…I changed back as the souls came out of me. Timothy and Zack stood beside me as the battle was over…the bloodiest battle yet that I’ve ever had. We won.
“TAKE THAT VEXUS!” I screamed as blood dripped from my mouth.
“FOR THE DIVINE ROSES OF HEAVEN!” Timothy added.
“That was nothing,” Zack finished. Surprisingly, none of our soldiers died in this part of battle. No casualties, a rare thing for me indeed. Now all that was left was Jennette and the commander’s battle, but from the commander’s battle…something surprising happened…

Fourth Unit Battle
Jennette’s point of view

I’ve never once in my life thought that my father would send me into battle. I was way too young to fight, but I had a hundred soldiers aiding me, counting my two sisters…but our battle didn’t last very long. Something strange happened.
As our soldiers charged forward…a dark cloud appeared out of nowhere.
“What in the world?” I questioned. Instantly, a large blue pillar of fire shot down upon the remaining enemy soldiers…but the fifth unit was completely destroyed! I couldn’t believe it! We won our battle! We won our war!

Diddy’s point of view

“Wait a second…,” I spoke in fear, “What just happened to the fifth unit!” Ania shook up in fear.
“I…,” she started, “I don’t know.” Toxica joined in.
“What kind of power was that?” she asked. I didn’t know any of it…but in a new case, all of our soldiers from the units screamed in happiness. We won!

“ALL RIGHT!” I screamed, “OUR FIRST WON WAR!”
“WOOHOO!” Ania added.
“EASY WINNINGS!” Toxica added.
“Too easy,” Roy added.
“ROCK ON!” Emerald added.
“THAT WAS TOO EASY!” Maren added.
“WE DID IT!” Kanda added.
“FOR THE PRINCESSES OF THE LAND OF THE SUN!” Timothy added.
“Wasted ammo…,” Zack pointed out.
“Wow,” Jennette said as the other two sisters cheered on. All of our soldiers screamed once again in happiness. WE MANAGED TO PUSH BACK VEXUS!

Thirty minutes later…

When we arrived back into town, confetti flew everywhere from the skies as people on top of buildings and around the city screamed in happiness. What a welcome it was indeed. I had Ania and Toxica walk beside me as the leaders of the other units including their comrades walked behind me (sadly not the fifth unit…. Bandai’s soldiers marched with us as well. As we arrived at the mansion while everyone followed us. Winston was jumping for joy in his feet.
“MARVELOUS!” Winston screamed in happiness, “ABSOLUTELY MARVELOUS DIDDY KONG! WHAT A TRIUMPHANT RETURN!” He immediately grabbed my arm and turned me to the crowd, rambling before he greeted the townsfolk. “A new god of war is born the blood of His Majesty Charles Diaz even though not related running through his veins!” He then held his hand out, signaling for the crowd screaming my name and the others. Ania smiled as well as Toxica and the others. I stood there nervously in front of nearly ten thousand people as Winston cleared his voice. “Attention! Attention! Listen here my dear citizens of Rainwall!” Everyone got quiet instantly and listened to the Lord. “The Land of the Sun is about to be undermined by the evil ambitions of the ever-so-despicable Vexus!” He then held his finger out. “But with the divine guidance of God, the hero of Soleanna long ago; Diddy Kong; has come to stand before us!” He then raised his hand out. “And in the name of our hero Diddy, let us join together and fight for the liberty of the Land of the Sun!” Everyone screamed at his voice as Kanda and the others could be seen cheering in the background. But Ania…Toxica…Roy…Emerald and Maren…just stood there. I thought they were mad at me…but then, I began to realize why they weren’t cheering. They were listening to the words of Lord Winston Bandai. That’s when I started to pay attention to him. “We…must deal a crushing blow to Vexus, who murdered our King and Queen; the King also the Commander of the King and Queen’s Knights!” He then paused a moment. “And, we must rescued the captured Princesses Dixie and Rosa! We shall restore our beloved homeland to all its former glory!”

Instantly, I felt my heart race at his words. His words were kind yes…but the way he said them…had my guard up to the highest it could go. Something was…fishy about him, something that I really grew suspicious about. Then I thought about the clouds in the sky that came in and finished our war…but they also killed a hundred of our soldiers, leaving us with 125 casualties in our battle. Did…Winston have something to do with that giant blue pillar that came down and killed an entire unit? “LET OUR MERCY AS DEEP AS THE FEITAS AND OUR AUTHORITY AS POWERFUL AS THE SUN BE REVEALED TO THE ENTIRE WORLD!” Winston yelled. The citizens repeated every word that Winston spoke, only they repeated this about three more times as he smiled…but the smile that no man ever liked…

well...doesn't that make you wonder about Winston a bit?

“Diddy Kong!” he screamed, “I’ll be your deputy commander!” Everyone looked at Kanda. “Don’t you worry! I won’t let so much as a mosquito touch you!” He may be 14 years old…but he was badass! I smiled at him.
“Thank you Kanda,” I spoke. Winston joined the laugh.
“That’s Lord Wilde for you!” he yelled, “So wonderfully reliable!” He then turned to me. “Diddy Kong, I’ll have five hundred soldiers prepared for battle…but the question is…are you prepared to GO into battle right away?” I smiled.
“You know I am Winston,” I answered. Winston smiled.
“May victory be ours Diddy Kong!” Winston screamed. Ania looked at me nervously as I showed no sign of fear or weakness. Three hundred soldiers were going to die today…but they weren’t going to be any of my soldiers. Kanda cheered.
“Let’s go get em!” he screamed. Everyone in the room cheered me on, chanting my name over and over. It was time for war…

Three hours later…

After three hours of work, we managed to gather soldiers from all over Rainwall and from under Lord Wilde and Lord Bandai’s guidance. Total from those people, we gathered about five hundred soldiers to fight in the campaign with us!
Winston began to explain to me how the war would work in times like this. There would always be three people to each unit, the first person chosen to be leader of that entire unit. Since there were five hundred soldiers, I would be controlling a hundred soldiers, plus the other two loyal people that I choose. In my unit, I picked Ania and Toxica, so these two would be fighting beside me in this campaign. Roy was leading the second unit, with Emerald and Maren in his party. In the third unit, Kanda would be leader, with Zack and Timothy in his party. In the fourth unit, Jennette lead, including her seven year old sisters Palina and Melany. I was wondering why Lord Bandai sent his youngest out on the battlefield, but we’ll get to that later, because their battle with Vexus’ soldiers was going to end…REALLY fast. In the fifth unit, a commander led it with two other commanders. We were all set for the war.
Before we left for battle, Winston walked up to me.
“We expect you to return unharmed Diddy Kong,” he said, “So may God have mercy upon your soul.” I nodded as I rode on my horse along with Ania and Toxica. I rode my horse in front of me a little away from the entire army and turned to them with a face of battle.
“LET OUR MERCY AS DEEP AS THE FEITAS AND OUR AUTHORITY AS POWERFUL AS THE SUN BE REVEALED TO THE ENTIRE WORLD!” I screamed. Everyone repeated my words as a battle cry, and then I turned around to the huge fields. “LET’S RIDE!” Instantly, everyone rode with me down the line. It was time for my first war to start…

Suddenly, we could see soldiers from afar moving into our location. I turned to my soldiers.
“HERE WE GO!” I screamed, “MY UNIT WILL GO FORWARD! ROY, YOU GO NORTHEAST OF ME! KANDA, YOU GO NORTHWEST OF ME! JENNETTE, YOU AND THE LAST UNIT RIDE BEHIND US!” I turned back to the fields. “LET OUR MERCY AS DEEP AS THE FEITAS AND OUR AUTHORITY AS POWERFUL AS THE SUN BE REVEALED TO THE ENTIRE WORLD!” Everyone repeated the lines that went on for generations…and then the FIRST CAMPAIGN commenced…

First Unit Battle

Ania, Toxica and I charged forward with bursting speed towards the first 50 soldiers that stood before us. An easy battle I will say, but that was going to change after we clashed straight into them. I got off my horse into the middle of three soldiers and slammed my sword onto them, cutting them in half. Five more soldiers crashed into me as three of Bandai’s soldiers aided me in battle. Instantly, our group took them out as ten more soldiers appeared. Ania appeared right in front of me with a spin to five of their throats. Toxica saw about three more of them coming for us and shot arrows at them. Thirty of our archers followed her command as they grabbed arrows and began firing them. Toxica was laughing in evil, which I liked.
“DIE VEXUS SOLDIERS!” she screamed, “DIE! FIRE AWAY ARCHERS!” The archers continued firing their arrows at the three of the Vexus soldiers coming in, plus an additional fifteen. Their numbers were going down extremely fast! Ania didn’t hesitate to charge forward and kill the other five soldiers that aided the other five that she killed in only three seconds. Bandai’s soldiers charged forward and cut three of their throats opened while five of ours went down to the ground. They were dead…so we had five casualties. After their deaths, I raised my Rune into the air.
“FIRE RUNE!” I screamed, “DANCING FLAMES!” Instantly, little fireballs spun around my head at high speed and flew into the air. Right when the Vexus soldiers had blades to me, the fireballs landed straight on the fourteen soldiers’ heads…and we sat back to watch the show. A huge pillar of flame could be seen that came from only little fireballs. Suddenly, three pillars were pulling apart from each other and spinning around the soldiers…but here was the catch…a barrier in the middle of those pillars could be seen as well as LAVA IN THE ATTACK! Instantly, the soldiers were dead as the lava and pillars disappeared. We won our first fight!
“WE DID IT!” I screamed. Ania smiled.
“That went by too quick,” she said.
“Agreed!” Toxica finished. Only five out of a hundred soldiers were dead, so we had ninety five left. I hope the Lord is watching them as we speak. Thank you God for this battle…and our survival. Now I looked at Roy’s group, who proceeded to fight a hundred of their soldiers. This was an even match…so I hope they would turn out ok…

Second Unit Battle
Roy’s point of view

Emerald, Maren and I charged forward and fought against 100 soldiers, an even match. Diddy was finishing up his battle when the three of us got off our horses and charged for the first ten coming at us. I swung my sword and killed the first five as Maren stood behind me spinning her staff. Every soldier trying to attack us was bounced back because Maren’s Pixie Rune produced a barrier that protected us. Emerald could be seen in the front of the line, spinning his batons as the blood of Vexus Soldiers was flying. When our barrier was gone, Emerald finished off three soldiers as ten more charged into him. Even though Emerald was an idiot to me, I wasn’t going to let him die, so I charged forward and stabbed straight into the ten that attacked him as Maren made the other five disappear with her Pixie Rune. Ten of the soldiers were dangling on my blade as Emerald sighed.
“Thanks bud,” he said. I shook my head.
“NO TIME FOR SAYING THANKS EMERALD!” I screamed, “WE’VE GOT A WAR TO SETTLE!” Instantly, I swung my blade, making the ten bodies fly off of it and landing on the two soldiers that tried to take Maren out. They weren’t dead, until she stabbed straight through their heads with her staff. 75 soldiers remained after that. I saw Bandai’s soldiers (about twenty of them) charging into the twenty oncoming soldiers. I smiled at Bandai who helped us, but I was suspecting tricks up his sleeve. I shook my head and continued fighting the soldiers that took us on. Ten of them collided into me as I grew into berserk. I raised my hand into the air. “EARTH RUNE!” I screamed, “EARTHQUAKE!” Suddenly, a symbol appeared under twenty of the soldiers that were behind the ten that I was supposed to take out…and pillars shot straight through those twenty as the ten striked me repeatedly. Emerald came to my aid and raised his hand into the air.
“BOAR RUNE DUDES!” he screamed. His eyes turned white as he sped straight up to the ten that were hurting me. He relentlessly beat the crap out of them with batons swinging to the left and right at a hundred miles per hour. Instantly, the ten were dead when he performed an uppercut on them. He turned to me and smiled as only 25 soldiers remained. I found that out when I looked to my right. Twenty of the soldiers that Bandai’s Soldiers charged into were dead…but our twenty were dead as well, so we only had 80 soldiers left. I shook my head in anger as I charged forward into the remaining ten in my group as Emerald took on five and Maren took on ten. I swung my sword and instantly cut off the heads of my ten as Emerald spun his batons taking out the five that came at him. Maren raised her hand in the air.
“IXIE RUNE!” she screamed, “STAFF OBLITERATION!” Right when the ten soldiers striked her, she slammed her staff down and instantly teleported them. Our battle was over…we won.
“Too many losers,” I said.
“RIGHT ON DUDES!” Emerald added.
“YAY!” Maren finished. We finished off 100 soldiers with only 20 casualties. I turned to Kanda’s fight. His was going to be…interesting…

Third Unit Battle
Kanda’s Point of view

“LET’S KILL THEM!” Zack screamed as he grabbed his two pistols. I smiled.
“Let’s do this Zack!” I screamed. Timothy even smiled.
“LET THE DIVINE ROSES DESTROY THESE DEMONS!” he screamed. Even I was rooted on by Timothy’s war cry. My soldiers plus my two comrades Zack and Timothy charged into battle against 50 of their soldiers. Even though this battle’s victor was quite clear…we still had to be on guard at all times. We all jumped off our horses as Zack fired his pistols at ten of the soldiers, finishing them instantly. I bet the Vexus Soldiers weren’t expecting that. I turned and parried with three of the soldiers and killed two of them. As three more piled in on me, Timothy came to my aid.
“En guarde!” he screamed as he sliced their throats. He was parrying with one of them as I when I saw Zack in the back parrying with ten of them with his sword. He cut through five of them as only 31 soldiers remained. I cut through my last bit as Bandai’s soldiers came to my aid. All a hundred of them killed only one, so I laughed after Zack jumped back to me. Timothy and Zack turned to me and smiled. A team up was about to begin…but they weren’t necessarily going to do the fight…
“LET’S FINISH THIS!” Zack screamed.
“Likewise my furry friends!” Timothy added.
“RABID FANG RUNE!” I screamed as my eyes turned red, “WEREWOLF TRANSFORMATION!” Instantly, Timothy and Zack disappeared as their souls went inside my body. After ten seconds, a huge red aura appeared around my body. I had the sharpest claws that mankind would have ever seen as I decided to put my sword away. There was no use for it at a time like this. My fangs grew longer as my tail and I went on all four legs. This battle was going to be over after that…
I sped forward at a thousand miles per hour and tore apart three soldiers as they no longer had bones in their bodies. After that, I sprint and took out ten of them, biting through all of their heads as only 17 remained. I sprint forward once again and slashed through ten of them while their bodies exploded. Seven remained…and I jumped into the air. I howled…and landed straight on top of the seven. The attack I performed on the last group was so gory and bloody that not even the Bandai Soldiers wanted to witness it. That was it…I changed back as the souls came out of me. Timothy and Zack stood beside me as the battle was over…the bloodiest battle yet that I’ve ever had. We won.
“TAKE THAT VEXUS!” I screamed as blood dripped from my mouth.
“FOR THE DIVINE ROSES OF HEAVEN!” Timothy added.
“That was nothing,” Zack finished. Surprisingly, none of our soldiers died in this part of battle. No casualties, a rare thing for me indeed. Now all that was left was Jennette and the commander’s battle, but from the commander’s battle…something surprising happened…

Fourth Unit Battle
Jennette’s point of view

I’ve never once in my life thought that my father would send me into battle. I was way too young to fight, but I had a hundred soldiers aiding me, counting my two sisters…but our battle didn’t last very long. Something strange happened.
As our soldiers charged forward…a dark cloud appeared out of nowhere.
“What in the world?” I questioned. Instantly, a large blue pillar of fire shot down upon the remaining enemy soldiers…but the fifth unit was completely destroyed! I couldn’t believe it! We won our battle! We won our war!

Diddy’s point of view

“Wait a second…,” I spoke in fear, “What just happened to the fifth unit!” Ania shook up in fear.
“I…,” she started, “I don’t know.” Toxica joined in.
“What kind of power was that?” she asked. I didn’t know any of it…but in a new case, all of our soldiers from the units screamed in happiness. We won!

“ALL RIGHT!” I screamed, “OUR FIRST WON WAR!”
“WOOHOO!” Ania added.
“EASY WINNINGS!” Toxica added.
“Too easy,” Roy added.
“ROCK ON!” Emerald added.
“THAT WAS TOO EASY!” Maren added.
“WE DID IT!” Kanda added.
“FOR THE PRINCESSES OF THE LAND OF THE SUN!” Timothy added.
“Wasted ammo…,” Zack pointed out.
“Wow,” Jennette said as the other two sisters cheered on. All of our soldiers screamed once again in happiness. WE MANAGED TO PUSH BACK VEXUS!

When we arrived back into town, confetti flew everywhere from the skies as people on top of buildings and around the city screamed in happiness. What a welcome it was indeed. I had Ania and Toxica walk beside me as the leaders of the other units including their comrades walked behind me (sadly not the fifth unit…. Bandai’s soldiers marched with us as well. As we arrived at the mansion while everyone followed us. Winston was jumping for joy in his feet.
“MARVELOUS!” Winston screamed in happiness, “ABSOLUTELY MARVELOUS DIDDY KONG! WHAT A TRIUMPHANT RETURN!” He immediately grabbed my arm and turned me to the crowd, rambling before he greeted the townsfolk. “A new god of war is born the blood of His Majesty Charles Diaz even though not related running through his veins!” He then held his hand out, signaling for the crowd screaming my name and the others. Ania smiled as well as Toxica and the others. I stood there nervously in front of nearly ten thousand people as Winston cleared his voice. “Attention! Attention! Listen here my dear citizens of Rainwall!” Everyone got quiet instantly and listened to the Lord. “The Land of the Sun is about to be undermined by the evil ambitions of the ever-so-despicable Vexus!” He then held his finger out. “But with the divine guidance of God, the hero of Soleanna long ago; Diddy Kong; has come to stand before us!” He then raised his hand out. “And in the name of our hero Diddy, let us join together and fight for the liberty of the Land of the Sun!” Everyone screamed at his voice as Kanda and the others could be seen cheering in the background. But Ania…Toxica…Roy…Emerald and Maren…just stood there. I thought they were mad at me…but then, I began to realize why they weren’t cheering. They were listening to the words of Lord Winston Bandai. That’s when I started to pay attention to him. “We…must deal a crushing blow to Vexus, who murdered our King and Queen; the King also the Commander of the King and Queen’s Knights!” He then paused a moment. “And, we must rescued the captured Princesses Dixie and Rosa! We shall restore our beloved homeland to all its former glory!”

Instantly, I felt my heart race at his words. His words were kind yes…but the way he said them…had my guard up to the highest it could go. Something was…fishy about him, something that I really grew suspicious about. Then I thought about the clouds in the sky that came in and finished our war…but they also killed a hundred of our soldiers, leaving us with 125 casualties in our battle. Did…Winston have something to do with that giant blue pillar that came down and killed an entire unit? “LET OUR MERCY AS DEEP AS THE FEITAS AND OUR AUTHORITY AS POWERFUL AS THE SUN BE REVEALED TO THE ENTIRE WORLD!” Winston yelled. The citizens repeated every word that Winston spoke, only they repeated this about three more times as he smiled…but the smile that no man ever liked…

well...doesn't that make you wonder about Winston a bit?
