Thank you TriciaS!!!

I was originally going to use a limited color palette, mainly alizarin crimson and yellow. Buuuutttttttt, I decided to let how I feel towards this piece to take charge. Yay

I will!!!

About my reaction:
I'm shocked because I don't think I'm confident or good enough to say I'll make a good artwork.

Whenever I start to paint I'm not sure how it will turn out. I think in at least 50% of cases when I made the first 2 layers the painting looks so awful...that I don't know if I should continue (and possibly waste my time and precious colors) or throw it away.
There were some I did throw away, but I guess less than 5?

But nothing is better than seeing a finished piece that is presentable .
And that it looks so effortless...like "it's a no big deal for me, I just spend 10 min working on it...it's so simple"   But in reality I was sweating like hell

YES! I can totally relate with your experience! The first two layers in watercolor is the most high-risk part where I start doubting myself. But if the piece ends up looking great, then it's the best feeling ever.

*flails arms* XD Gurl, don't throw precious watercolor cotton paper I am sure you can use the back or side for practice. hahaha.

Thank you for sharing your experience

I learned to never react when the paper is still wet (from wet on wet technique) and the colors haven't developed right and aren't dry enough. That's the time when you go into your zen mode   and...wait.

The same is with coloring...even if it looks more and more strange don't stop until it's finished. I always have to push and tell myself that it will work out. Because it always did

I don't throw any paper away (even the regular one  ). I use it for testing my colors. Beside my watercolors I have a spare piece of paper where I test how the color looks when I add it on my brush. To see if it's too dark/ light, if the color is properly mixed. I make little "doodles" with the brush on the spare paper first before coloring the real deal (artwork).

And for additional info, I don't have a paper brand. Nothing too expensive. Can't afford it.

I'm more concerned about the poor

Yasssssss. Glad you enjoy it. I didn't want a humanoid fairy so i wanted to it to appear more strange and insect like. Similar to Spiderwick fairy illustrations.
