Well, I've illustrated some of my general ideas for my Spectacular Spider-Man fanfics and my Green Lantern: The Animated Series fanfics. So now, I think it's best if I get a couple pics done for the THIRD series I'm trying to find fanfic co-writers for...X-Men: Evolution.To start off, I thought I'd begin by revealing one of the key players in my fanfic ideas. That player is Jonothan Starsmore (aka. Chamber), a character who, in my opinion is one of the most interesting, yet underappreciated, mutants out there. In deference the the Evolution series, I decided this introductory pic would be in the same vein as the show's end credits, since I WILL have him joining the team.
For those who aren't familiar with him, Jonothan's body is, essentially, a chamber of living psychic energy (hence his name). Unfortunately, when his powers first manifested, that very same energy exploded out of his chest, effectively destroying everything from his upper jaw to his lower torso. For the most part, his powers consist mostly of firing beams and unleashing explosive blasts. His mutation also offers him regenerative powers that may very well rival Wolverine's (he once regrew his entire body after one of his explosions was so powerful, he completely disintegrated himself). Yet, oddly enough, he is still unable to regain the body parts he lost when his mutation first emerged.
For my fanfic ideas, I've also come up with a new way for Jonothan to use his powers which I actually think could theoretically be canon. The idea is basically a technique called "pulsing", where Jonothan delivers bursts of energy to his arms and legs, allowing him incredible surges in speed and strength, should the need arise. His powers will also be useful in another respect, but I'll get into that when I get an upcoming pic posted.
As for the pic, itself, it looked so promising when the pencil work was done. Not that I think it's bad, really. I mean, I wouldn't have posted it if I thought it was bad. It looks more or less like I wanted it to look and the colors came together nicely. I just kind of wish I could have gotten the energy effects to look better than they did. I just REALLY wanted to make it sing, you know? And nothing I tried to do could really bring that out. Which, again, isn't to say that I think what I have here looks bad. It looks pretty good. I just can't help feeling like it's missing that kind of, "je ne sais quois", you know?
But I'll see if a new technique comes to mind, the next time I give drawing him a go. In the meantime, I hope everyone else likes what they see. And if it gets you curious about my fanfic ideas and maybe inspires you to inquire about helping out, so much the better. Either way, hope to hear from you. ^_^

Loved this series. Only saw the first few seasons though and scattered episodes from the rest of the series.

Well, I thought Evolution was the best of the X-Men animated series, because the 90s series had too much melodrama and Wolverine and the X-Men, to me, was weak in a lot of ways, because of all the attempted movie tie-ins.
I also thought that Chamber was a very cool and very underutilized character, which is why I wanted to use him.

It is cool! It always nice to see you open to do art that I never think you do. I like how you show his powers being use. It is amazing how much you know about comics and other things as well. I can't help but look forward to seeing what you come up with next. Your gift is truly honor and treasure for joy brings to many. Yeah, admittedly, this one was me kind of shooting from the hip, because the idea really came to me at the 11th hour and I was just wanting to put something out there because I didn't want to miss a week. You know, because that was what got me into that HUGE drought in the first place and I didn't want to leave myself an opening to fall back into that hole. So it's not bad, but it's not my best. That said, I've got a pretty good idea of what I want the next pic to look like, so with any luck, it'll look a lot better. ^_^

Well, I think what I thought was the funniest part was the scene where Ludo throws a baby bird out of its nest to get mooch food from the mother, but the mother has none of it, grabs him out of the nest and flies off with him. And as she drops him, he shouts at her, "YOU NEVER LOVED MEEEEEEE...!"
This Season, though, definitely seems to be going to some darker places. It also seems to have an actual sense of direction now, too. Not like last Season, where they kept introducing these concepts, which all just petered out with no payoff. The "Dip Down" concept was interesting in the sense that it explains why the Princess of Mewnie receives the Wand at such a young age. After all, if it's the Queen's job to defend the kingdom, why relinquish the source of her power so early? This implies that the Wand is not the TRUE source of the Queen's power, but merely a teaching tool...like training wheels in a way, learning to control magic in general before utilizing their own. However, in the wrong hands (or if it's simply not working properly, as we're seeing), it can still be a pretty dangerous weapon.
As for the Journal moment, I can see why it would feel like a tease to the "Starco" base out there. But if you think about it, it actually cuts both ways. If you pause and look at the first page, Star is describing the day she and Marco first met. It doesn't go beyond that, but it begs the question, does Star not want Marco to read the Journal because he'll find out she likes him? Or does it reveal that she maybe DIDN'T like at first and just paid him lip service, and THAT'S what she doesn't want him to know because she likes him now and doesn't want to hurt her friend? I guess we'll find out eventually. But personally, I'm still holding out hope for Jackie.

That's true. I've been waiting for some dark territory to come out of this show and I'm glad we might be getting some. It would be interesting to see what would happen to Ludo next after he discovered the wand and castle. Some deep s*** is bound to happen now.
I totally agree with you there. Oh the suspense, how will it end??? I honestly don't like ships once in a while, but we'll see how this goes on from here.

Well, the silliness is nice, but again, it would be nice if this Season actually has some direction. You know, a plan of where they're going, which they didn't really have in Season 1. We're going to have to wait and see what happens with Ludo, though. Because the question is, does he go after Star again? Or does he try to take the castle? And if he tries to take the castle, does Star's mother defeat him with her OWN magic? And then he goes after Star in order to take the full wand and get MORE power? If that happens, that would go a long way to proving MY theory, wouldn't it?
As for the "shipping" thing, I agree that we'll see what happens. But there's a reason I'm favoring Jackie over Star at this point. I mean, I wouldn't complain if they put Star and Marco together. It would make a certain amount of sense. But at the same time, we've seen this kind of thing before, haven't we? We saw it with Kim and Ron on Kim Possible, we saw it with Danny and Sam on Danny Phantom (I could name others, but you get my point). So to go that same way with Star and Marco, it's not that it wouldn't be nice...but at the same time, it wouldn't be breaking any new ground, either. So I'd kind of like to see Jackie become Marco's love interest, just to go the OTHER way with it. Because I'm a sucker for anything that's even MODERATELY original.
Besides, I actually think that Jackie DOES like Marco back. He's just so terrified of talking to her, because he's convinced himself that she's out of his league, he never finds out about it.

Well, you didn't offend me with that last comment. Truthfully, I've heard some of these long before you came to me with that one. For example, I've heard tell that when they were originally coming up with the concept for Gwen in the original Ben 10 series, she wasn't set up to be his cousin. She was supposed to be his GIRLFRIEND. But then they thought...okay, two 10 year old kids...MAAAYYBE not the best idea to be implying.
Another example was from the manga series, "Cardcaptor Sakura", where it's revealed on several occasions that one of 10-year-old Sakura's classmates is actually romantically involved with their twenty-something homeroom teacher. Granted, the relationship is handled as tastefully as possible, but that's always been a thing for series creators, CLAMP. There isn't a sexual taboo out there that these women haven't toyed with AT LEAST once, over all the manga series they've created.
But anyway, I guess we'll see as new episodes come out.

Oh crap, you just reminded me about this one thing involving Ben 10. There was a video by RebelTaxi where he talks about several Ben 10 reincarnations and one of them he mentioned happened to be one called "Ben 10 inches"... you can see by the title why it's NSFW. I thought he was joking until I looked it up... and ya... it's real! O_O
Oh my, I'm kind of interested on that relationship you mentioned. Remember, this is coming from someone who keeps falling in love with androgynous 1980s peeps. Dammit, maybe there is something wrong with me at this point. I hate just about 90% of all the boys in my school and the other 10% are just friends that I have no feeling for. What do you think? Is this normal? (And I'm sorry for bringing this up again, I know you're probably sick and tired of this, but I don't recall your personal opinion about this situation yet. Also, you seem pretty chill about the whole Cardcaptor Sakura series which involves all these kind of things, so I assume you're ok with these kinds of things (As long if it doesn't get out of hand of course, so not all the time), but I just want to confirm.)

Huh...sounds like one of those comic book porn parodies that can be found on the internet. I don't know if you know about the "Rules" of the internet, but arguably the most infamous (yet common) one is rule #34...if it exists, there IS porn of it.
As for your feelings on boys, I don't think there's anything wrong with you at all. We all move at our own pace. Plus, remember what I said to you around the time we first met. I know it happens on VERY rare occasions and yes, it's very romantic when it does. But chances are, you're probably NOT going to find your soul mate in the eighth grade. Also, it's high school. When you walk out those doors for the last time, unless you become VERY good friends with some of them, it's HIGHLY unlikely that you're going to see any of these people ever again. It's the relationships you cultivate out in the world that will ultimately become the most meaningful, because it's out in the world where you're going to find more like-minded people. So don't rush it. These things happen when they happen.
As for my thoughts on the Cardcaptor Sakura thing, well, my thinking on it is, it is a RAZOR-thin line. I mean, ignoring the fact that the girl and the teacher aren't revealed to be having sex or anything (it's actually heavily implied at they're both waiting for her to reach the proper age before they start having sex), in Cardcaptor Sakura, it's fiction. The character's aren't real people, therefore, the situation isn't real. And in fiction, characters can be as mature and as aware of the circumstances and as willing to face them as you want them to be, regardless of their age. Put simply, in fiction, children can be given the capacity to make adult decisions with an adult's understanding.
The problem is that there ARE real circumstances like that, out in the world. And that is very much NOT acceptable, because now we're talking about REAL children. They are NOT wise and knowledgeable and understanding beyond their years. They are being exposed to something they shouldn't even be THINKING about until much later in life. And that is damaging and that is cruel. But the adults exploiting the situation don't care about that. All they care about is what floats THEIR boat.
But moving on to something a bit lighter, yes, I know about the upcoming episode titles. I also saw this...

Of course I know the rules of the internet. I'll be dead honest with you, I've actually tried to look for rule 34 stuff just to troll my friends, and of course they try to fire back at me with my favourite characters, but since my characters are obscure, there was hardly any.

EXACTLY! You know what. There are some 5 year old swearing at each other near my place not too long ago. Using the f and n word. Je$u$. I only knew those bad words when I was in grade 6 (which is still not a good age but I least I didn't tell anyone.) Also, I blame current MTV with their stupid shows like "Teen mom" and "16 and pregnant". It's almost like they want to expose kids thinking being pregnant can make you famous. WTF? RIP MTV!

Well, you should be able to just Google Rule 34 alongside pretty much anything and find stuff. Not that I'm condoning that sort of behavior, mind you. I'm just saying.

There were these two guys who went to see it, too, they brought like, half a dozen kids with them...and I don't think there was a single one of them that was even 13. And I'm just thinking to myself, "Seriously? You're coming all the way out here and spending all this money on tickets, but you're too lazy and cheap to hire a sitter for your kid?". How does ANYONE justify that?

My parents actually said stuff like "kurwa" (Which is actually the most bad word in the Polish language) but I never said it because usually, when I can't think of the english translation for a word, I assume it's a made up word and just forget about it. Hell, even when I watched Newgrounds as a kid, when I heard a bad word, I just kept it to myself because I had no idea what it meant. I was just smarter than everyone else because I never went around saying stuff like that. As for the Blade 2 thing, isn't that movie not for kids???

More often than not. At least when Mom was in the house. She firmly drew the line when we were kids. Though as we got older and she started giving us more freedom and responsibility, her rule became more along the lines of, "You guys can say whatever you want...just as long as I'm not around to hear it."
Definitely violence and definitely language. And lest we forget Guillermo Del Toro's "Reaper" vampires with their insect like properties...most notably, their lower jaw which unhinged and split down the middle to form mandibles. Definitely not for the kids.

Yeah, I can be kind of that way when I play video games at my place. Because there's no one to hear me, I can get pretty salty with the language.
Well, R rating aside, Blade II is a pretty good movie and arguably better than the original. And I think Guillermo Del Toro owes a lot to that film. I mean, he wasn't a COMPLETE unknown in Hollywood before Blade II came along (he'd directed other features before it), but I daresay Blade II was the launching pad that shot him through the glass ceiling into mainstream film-making (before that, he was mostly just another "Foreign/Indie" guy). Because after that came Hellboy, which he also knocked out of the park (along with Hellboy II: The Golden Army). And that's when people started REALLY paying attention to him and thinking, "Hey, this guy's actually got some pretty neat ideas". So they started letting him do his own thing and from there came "Pan's Labyrinth" and then "Pacific Rim". And then there's the TV projects he's been tied to like "The Strain". So he's just been running with the ball ever since. But yeah, if you look at Blade II, you'll definitely see Del Toro's vision behind it.
As for SvtFoE, I appreciated some aspects of it. Others, not so much. I mean, Marco's whole act with the kissing thing, well, not actually MENTIONING French was by design...a kind of witty way on the part of the writers to HINT at it without actually coming out and SAYING it. You know, mentioning Germany and Italy, which are countries that BORDER France. And then, they had him say "Polynesian" and there IS an island called the FRENCH Polynesia, so...
And yes, Rebel Star looked pretty good (needs to give the lipstick a rest, but...). I wouldn't ship her and Tom, though, mostly because that would make her motivations for getting back with him almost identical to why she got involved with him in the first place...which was pretty much for all the WRONG reasons. And that was just ONE of the reasons it didn't work. But that was also my problem with the whole thing, in that it kind of looked like they were putting the whole Tom issue to bed already. And unless someone comes back later and tempts him into going after Star again, I thought it was WAY too soon to just "be done" with that.
And as for the whole Red Belt thing...you know, it started out LOOKING like this was an episode that was going to build Marco up...but instead, all it really ended up doing was knocking him down. I mean, yeah, the whole "collectible" angle was kind of cool. But not only did Marco not REALLY get anywhere, when you think about it, it also kind of devalued everything he'd ALREADY accomplished up to that point by saying, "Yeah, all those mad skills you're so proud of? Turns out, you just learned them from a loser who doesn't even know what HE'S doing".

Oh cool! I didn't know he did the Hellboy films too. I remember watching them around grade 7, and I remembered I loved them. I actually want to see Toro's whole list of movies now, he seems like a cool guy.

Well, if Rebel Star was a separate person, then she'd probably be more like the kind of girl Tom wanted her to be. But as I was watching "Blood Moon Ball", it was pretty obvious to me why they got together and why it ultimately didn't work. Obviously, Star was drawn to Tom because he was different than any other boy she knew at the time...or any other guy that her parents might have tried to set her up with. But it ultimately fell apart over one simple point...that he's a narcissistic control freak who basically wanted to make her his b*BEEP!*tch. So after she presented a well-reasoned (and undoubtedly PAINFUL) argument as to why that was never, EVER going to happen, she broke things off.
That being said, I could definitely see them getting more mileage out of Tom. And that's why I'm disappointed that they're kind of dropping this whole issue with him right this second. I didn't have a problem with HOW they handled it, because that was more or less what I figured was going to happen, anyway. I just thought it was way too soon. Unless they're planning on some way to bring it back...like, as I said before, maybe have someone come into the picture and start tempting Tom to go after Star again. Or perhaps someone from Tom's family comes into play and starts kicking up a fuss.
Yeah, they definitely need to step up Marco a little bit. I like what they did with him at first, because they presented him as someone who could actually take care of himself and he wasn't just this tag-along loser who just scrapes by. But it seems like at some point in Season 1, he peaked and now it all just seems to be going downhill for him. Hopefully, this descent won't continue. But as for things turning around for him in the next episode, well, I'll let you look at this and see for yourself...

Oh ya, now I remember. Now that you mention it, Star kind of reminds me of...me. Think about it, you mentioned how Star liked Tom at the time because he was different than everyone else, right? Well, same goes to me (And I already told you so many times about my likings, so I won't bore you here. ). I hope Tom does changes his ways though, because if he keeps acting like he's so obsessed with Star, then he might take things to a whole new level. O_O

Well, everyone who picks a side hopes their team wins. And I wouldn't call Marie salty. She's just more serious and reserved. That being said, it's kind of nice to see their musical repertoire including solo songs now. They've apparently even included them in their concert appearances. ^_^
